    - Timestamp hi all, i have a database setup thru fp. i have added the hidden field Timestamp to the submission form and am able to retreive it thru the dbrw when i use a query to get the detail info for the record. what i also need to do is to have the timestamp field updated when i use the db editor to change an existing record so that the query results will show the most current timestamp when the record was actually updated, not just when it was submitted and i cannot figure out how to do this. any help greatly appreciated.     - WEBDav works for Web folders, not for Frontpage Hello, I use Frontpage 2003. I'm not sure if my server has extensions. Anyways, I am able to access my site as a Web Folder using Webdav, and I can update it that way. However, trying to "publish" my site from within Frontpage 2003 over Webdav doesn't work. I get a pop-up that basically says it this the server doesn't have SharePoint Servies installed and that possible causes could be 1. No exensions. 2. Temp out of service. 3. Proxy. 4. An error. Then it says "If this server does not support the FrontPage Server Extensions, FrontPage may still be able to publish to the server via FTP or WebDAV." ...well that is what I tried.     - New files won't move from Local to Remote Wow. This is quite frustrating and this is not the first time this has happened with FP for me. I update or add a file and move the file from Local to Remote. Then I publish the site and yet, the file does not publish.     - "publish from" drive Another dumb question, but if you need to know, you need to know. I was playing with some templates that I downloaded. The templates are on "C". Now, when I go to "publish web", it wants to publish these templates. The thing I actually want to publish, (change), is the page I have open, which is on another drive.     - duplicate emails sending and receiving Outlook 07 The emails I receive are duplicated almost every time and sometimes tripled or more. Several times I have received the same msg. 7 or 8 times.     - Frontpage 2003 Tools - Options won't open I'm trying to access Options under the Tool menu in FrontPage and I keep getting this message - "Unsupported operation was attempted".     - Website Text Differences on Internet Browers I created a website using FP 2003, but I just found out that depending upon the text size the user has set on their internet brower, the website looks wierd. Looks fine if the text size is Medium, but if they have it as Larger or Largest, everything is jumbled. Can I fix or set that in the website itself asa default or something... so it doesn't change based upon the user settings? Is there a way to plan on these differences when creating a website?     - Back Up Website I am using FP 2002. A couple of months ago, due to unfortunate circumstances, my web site went into a redemption period through my provider. It has since been re-activated and now I want to be sure that I have it currently backed up, either on disc or HD. I note that there is a way to back up to disc using FP 2003 but not FP 2002. I did have a back up on my HD that was made before I finalized the current site as it is. I cannot remember how I did it. I have tried to publish the site to that back up thinking that it would override the older files, or prompt me as needed. It seems it tries to publish to the HD folder (which is named my domain name with the folder having the 'earth' icon on it), however, after a few minutes it stops the process and gives me the message... "Error occurred accessing your FP web files. Authors: If authoring against a web server, please contact the webmaster for this server site. Webmasters: please see the systems log for more details."     - Video I have two questions I need help with. We have been recording some training sessions and would now like to post them on our site. What I have been doing is just importing the file into our site and doing a link back to the file for people to click on to watch the video. Is that the correct way to do this? I have read a couple of posts that talk about using the insert>picture>video to bring the file in.? Also the recorded sessions are about 2 hours long from the original file. The file size is huge! What I have been doing is editing the file with Movie Maker and publishing the file back out to my PC and then import it to our site. The file size is ends up being about 512MB. Too big! My original file size is about 110MB so I am not sure why my edited file is larger?     - tables I was working on some forms in Publisher when it was suggested to me that, in order to stabilize the forms, I use tables in Frontpage. I opened the program for the first time about two weeks ago, & the advice proved to be correct. By using tables tohold a header, nav buttons, etc. around the form, everything stayed where I put it. My forms are done. Now I'm just dabbling with the program. It seemed to me that the easy way to lay out a page would be to create one large grid, with lots of cells, & merge the cells to form the spaces that I wanted to use. I could just change widths, heights, & merge. I've done this, but now don't seem to be able to affect the width of the cells involved. The page itself is 100%, but the cells won't change, either as a percentage, or as fixed widths. The program is FPXP. Two questions. First, why are the cells height & width seemingly "locked"?     - Parsing Error, with Front Page .... Get the following error, each time I publish my site using Front Page: The server sent a response which FrontPage could not parse. If you are trying to connect to a FrontPage Server, check with the server's administrator to make sure the FrontPage Server Extensions are installed properly. This error began showing, a few weeks ago. Host unable to solve, as implied it should, but trying hard. Host reset FP extensions.     - Java script link.... I've a JS slide show where I would like the last jpg image to have a navigation menu with links to other pages on this web. I don't think I can add links to a jpg image, so I was thinking it may be possible to have the images overlay the menu until the last image when the menu would show through.     - FTP Publishing and Trojan Horses I've got two sites that run w/o FP extensions on two different servers, so I publish to their ftp address. During uploads, my Norton Anti-Virus will randomly pop-up a window that it has blocked a Trojan Horse, related to an FP process. The upload is temporarily blocked, but resumes after I click on "OK". This probably happens about 50% of the time I upload to these servers, but I have not been able to figure out why sometimes and not others. Both servers are professionally managed and scans with NAV, adaware, etc have not turned up a problem, but it's still never a good feeling. I have the mailto link directed to a board memeber who is suppose to report the president all emails from a specific page.     - Preventing Duplicate Users Hi there I've created protected ASP pages in my website following instructions in article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/825498 Users are prompted to log on or register if they aren't already registered. The registration form is split over two ASP pages. The first page simply asks for email address, username and password and, on submit, posts to the second ASP page. The second page asks the user for contact details (name, address etc.) I would like the first page of the registration to check the database to find if there are any records with the same username or email address before posting to the second page. If the username or email address already exists, I want to return an error prompting the visitor to try another username or email address. I've set the properties of these fields in the access database to disallow duplicates. However, if a visitor enters a username or email address that already exists in the Access Database, the record is not added to the database but the user is unaware and can complete and submit the registration form.     - cut 'n paste Javascript into BODY & getting it to validate I use cut 'n paste Javascripts. The validators dont like these. I found that, for those which are loaded in the <head></head> that the simple process of linking it from an external file seems to validate and the JS works. But, what do I do when the Javascript needs to be in the BODY, not in the HEADER? I am not sure if any browsers will link in an external Javascript that is evoked between the <BODY> and </BODY> markers. Any suggestions on how to get this JS to validate?     - Upload photo from user to us Hi Not sure really if this is possible or (more likely) I'm thinking about it in the wrong way. I have an application form that saves input to an access db. I need people to also send me a photograph of themself (just a face shot for a liftpass in a ski resort). I know that storeing a photo in access is a "big" mistake but I hope to somehow have a "upload photo" button on the page and then (not really sure how) they could browse to a photo on their hard drive and upload it to me. I could store it in the on-line access database (I can set the table field formats no probelm) as this is emptied everyday so the bloating would not be too bad. For form 2, I have set a confirmation page B which is a simple acknowledgement, but clicking 'submit' goes to confirmation page A which has the link to the form which has just been completed.     - Navigation bars not showing in browser after publishing intranet I am using a windows xp professional computer to host an intranet. I use Frontpage to design the site. I am using shared border feature. When I publish, link navigations bars don't show in a browser when I view the published page in a browser. When I am publishing, the following message comes up. 'The following pages in your website contain link bars or navigation bars that use new navigation options. They will not display properly because the server you are pubishing to does not suppot these features. To enable link bars, publish your website to a server running the latest version of frontpage server extensions or sharepoint services.' I checked the microsoft website for help and the Technet site has advice on how to intstall sharepoint from the XP cd. However, when I tried to, there was no sharepoint folder in the XP cd. How can I resolve this problem? The computer hosting the intranet has Frontpage 2000 server extensions. Help me with either upgrading this or installing sharepoint so I can run the intranet smoothly. I had Frontpage 2003 on my old computer which ran XP. I have recently had to
update my computer which came with Windows Vista Home Premium. I also had 2
hard drives in the old computer of which I took out (nothing wrong with them)
and put one in the new computer so that I now have 2 hard drives. My problem
is that I am trying to run Frontpage on the new computer and I go to open up
folders from the imported hard drive and I get the following message. "Server
error. The server extensions were unable to access the file
â??E:\CduccWeb\_vti_pvt\service.lckâ?? Please check the file permissions.â??
Can anyone tell my why I can't open the folders?

Since the web is on a different drive than C:\ you "must" open it as a disk based web.
File > open site and browse to E:\CduccWeb
