I'm new to Exchange and am attempting to setup a new
Exchange server on our network on it's own subnet for
testing purposes. We currently have several sites with
their own Exchange servers and each is connected to
our "main" Exchange server using both Site Connector and
Directory Replication Connector. I've freshly loaded NT4
with SP6a as a BDC and Exchange 5.5 with SP3 and setup
Exchange as a new site. Then configured the site connector
from the new server to our "main" Exchange server after
which it gave me a chance to setup the connector on the
other side which I did successfully. Then I setup a test
user in the domain and a mailbox on the new server and
configured Outlook 2K on another machine for the client.
I can logon to the mailbox and send email to the test user
from the test user's account but if I try to send to
anyone else I receive an NDR that says "No transport
provider was available for delivery to this recipient".
When I send email from another account to the test user I
don't get any NDR but the email is never received. All
servers are on the same Windows domain and there doesn't
appear to be any connectivity issues. All Exchange
services are running including the Message Transfer Agent.
There is a "Type: Information" message repeated fairly
often in the Event Log from "MSExchangeIS Public" that
says "The table is closed. Type 9" (other log entries have
different type #'s). Since I'm an Exchange newbie who just
took over managing our servers it's likely that I've
missed something basic but can't seem to determine what.
Can anybody help or point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
David
