how to remove first exchange

os is windows 2003 with exchange 2003. all users, groups an
publicfolders are rehomed to the new exchange server. but when i wan
to uninstall the server it says

the server "exchange" cannot be removed because: - one or more user
currently use a mailbox store on this server. thse users must b
moved to a mailbox store on a different server or be mail disable
before uninstalling this server.

facility exchange system manage
id no: c103f49
exchange system manage

when i look in exchange system manager i see no mailboxes. how can
remove the first exchange. already looked at support microsoft. the
have a document about rehoming and moving all the neccessary to th
new exchange. read and done this but still cant uninstall thi
server

now i have the following problem;

i have the following components when i want to uninstall.

microsoft exchange
microsoft exchange messaging and collaboration services
microsoft exchange system management tools

by component progress it hangs at microsoft exchange forest preparation
(setup failed while installing sub-component microsoft windows active
directory schema update with error code 0xc1037989 (please consult the
installation logs for a detailed description). you may cancel the
installation or try the failed step again.

the i cancel and the installation goes further to component messages. here i
have tree messages

-microsoft exchange system management tools
an unknown error has occured; facility: win32; id no: e0070101; microsoft
exchange setup
-microsoft exchange forest preparation
cannot find the file; id no: c1037986;microsoft exchange setup
-microsoft exchange messaging and collaboration services
an unknown error has occurred; facility win32; id no: e0070101; microsoft
exchange setup

i hope this will not harm my Active directory.
