 - Unable to download OAB after E2K7 upgrade I am trying to use the offline address book from public folders but am unable to download it in Outlook (2007,2003). The GAL and OAB has been moved to the 2007 mailbox server. To make sure of this I even shut down my legacy servers and removed my client "cached mode" so I verify that I could access the GAL. This was successful but I'm still unable to download the OAB. I receive the error:(0x8004010f) 'The operation failed. An object cannot be found'. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.  - Exchange 2007 SP1 32bit trial Dear, I would like to have it confirmed that the trial version of Exchange does not stop working when the period has expired. I have a test version running on a local server and would like to continue using that without reinstalling. I have 2 64bit keys in my MSDN subscribtion, which (obviously) don't work. I contacted my MSDN subsribtion service and the local office of microsoft but they both could not confirm my question or help me in any way. They redirected me to the newsgroups.  - Exchange 2007 Resources and Outlook 2003 I am using Exchange Server 2007 SP1. Is there a way to make visible the new Resource mailboxes (Room, Equipment, etc.) in the client Outlook 2003 SP3 interface when the end-user sets up a new meeting?  - Removing existing Exchange server 2007 from AD / or Domain in preparation for new install I currently have a Exchange server 2007 that was installed into a new domain (that isn't in production yet) within a Virtual Machine (VMware). I've decided not to use vm and install it on new physical hardware. I understand there is a way to move the installation from one machine and restore it on a new machine (/recoverserver parameter) but I think for this case it would be easier to just re-install.  - Outlook 2003 Error: 0X80004005 Hi, I noticed that my Outlook 2003 clients are getting the following "Sync Issues" error: Microsoft Exchange offline address book 0X800004005 My Outlook 2007 clients don't get this error, but I suspect that is because they don't use an offline address book. My Exchange 2003 Server migrated to Exchange 2007 a while ago and I suspect this is when the errors started. I'm pretty sure that step 1 of "To remove the last Exchange 2003 or Exchange 2000 server from an Exchange 2007 organization" found at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb288905.aspx has been preformed, but I can't say for sure.  - Test-MapiConnectivity failure on Exchange 2007 in coexistence with I'm seeing a problem in my production rollout that I did not see in my test environment. The environment is as follows: - Exchange 2003 server on Windows 2003 - New Exchange 2007 (08.01.0240.006) on Windows 2003 R2 (64-bit) Mail is still received by the 2003 server but is now sent via the 2007 server. Mail works perfectly for all accounts on the 2003 box (sending and receiving both internally and externally). SYMPTOMS Any accounts on the 2007 server cannot send mail. Messages are received from externally and from 2003 accounts. In OWA a message that is sent sits in the Drafts folder. In Outlook 2007 a message that is sent goes into the Sent Items. In neither case does the message actually get sent. When I use the Mail Flow Troubleshooter I select "messages sent by users are pending submission on their mailbox server". After checking the Mailbox Server Role Health I get the following errors: '\MSExchangeIS Mailbox\Messages Queued for Submission' is not making progress The value for the '\MSExchangeIS Mailbox\Messages Queued For Submission' counter on server SERVER is greater than zero (average value is 1) and it appears that 'MSExchangeMailSubmission' is failing to submit messages to at least one computer with the Hub Transport server role installed over the last minute. Test-MapiConnectivity failure for mailbox database 'First Storage Group\Mailbox Database' Result of Test-MapiConnectivity for mailbox database First Storage Group\Mailbox Database on server SERVER was '*FAILURE*' with Error='[System.ArgumentException]: Either a mailbox domain name or both the mailbox GUID and mailbox database GUID must be specified.'. Do you know what the problem might be? As this is a production environment I don't want to try things blindly, and my test environment did not have this problem. Could it be a permissions problem?  - Management Tools Setup Error Hi All, I have a rather interesting scenario, whereby for some reason or another I am unable to install the Microsoft Exchange 2007 Management Tools on my Windows Vista Ultimate Workstation. The cause is so broad that I had to reach out to someone on this forum in hopes that one of you have run into and have been able to resolve. To be more specific, the error that I am getting is simply â??setup has encountered an errorâ?? nothing more. If I review the event logs I show a log that references 4999 but nothing on how to resolve itâ?¦..I am running setup from an iso that I downloaded and extracted from msdn, another piece I find even more interesting is thisâ?¦.if I take the non sp1 integrated exchange server dvd and attempt to install it from there I actually get futher than I do with the downloaded imageâ?¦.whereby setup actually goes through and does its prerequisite check and then tells me that it cannot be installed on the os that I am runningâ?¦..  - Removing Exchange 2000 server from Exchange 2007 environment I installed a new Exchange 2007 Server that ran concurrently with an Exchange 2000 Server. I gradually moved all the mailboxes until I finally had them all. There was still the problem of a certain application that had server information hardcoded in that finally got changed this week. Everything is now on the New Exchange Server, including Public Folders and offline address books. So I shut it down to see if everything would function ok. It did, with the exception of a single client computer. When I shut down the 2000 box, Outlook will receive EMAIL but will not send. It asks for a password for the user to logon to the old Exchange Server. The Outlook client is set up exactly the way every other Outlook Client is. The Version is Outlook 2003. Send Connectors are on both Servers. They route to a spam filter I use as a smart host. No Routing groups exist between the two servers. I deleted them earlier this week.  - Exchange 2003, Windows 2003 Enterprise I have a server running Windows 2003 Enterprise (we had to run this for a specialized application). I also have Exchange 2003. I have the utility IGetmail running so that it will download messages from the POP3 server (hosted) to assigned exchange accounts. I was finally able to get this working within the network. However, setting up RPC over http has become a nightmare. I have followed every single article I could find on google all to no luck.  - Considering upgrading to Exchange 2007 with High Availability We currently have Exchange Server 2003 Standard SP2 on Windows Server 2003 SP2 (no clustering). Our priority is to have high-availability. From early research, it seems we need to: 1. Upgrade existing Exchange Server 2003 to 2007 Enterprise. 2. Prepare another Exchange 2007 Enterprise server. 3. Configure high-availability. I've never done this and don't know all the steps right now but are these the basics?  - Exchange 2007 Installation; Client Access Role I am trying to Install Exchange 2k7 on Windows Server 2008. I've gone through the whole nine yards of preinstallation checks b/c its going to coexists in an Exchange 2000 Environment. I have both windows 2000 and 2k3 DCs. The Readiness checks out allright. Everything goes OK for the typical Exchange installation but the installation fails for Client Access Role. I get the following error: Client Access Role Error: An error occurred while creating the IIS virtual directory 'IIS://exchangeserver.domain.com/W3SVC/1/ROOT/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync' on 'exchangeserver' .  - Failure when adding Exchange 2003 server to a mixed 2003/2007 setu Hello, Hopefully someone can help with a problem we are having. We have a working domain with two Exchange 2003 servers. A Exchange 2007 server was added to this domain at a later date and they have all happily lived together. We now need to add another Exchange 2003 server to this domain but the install keeps failing when updating the AD on the DC. It creates the server container but fails to create anything underneath. The error we are seeing is: ScSetTypeInfoOnServerObject (f:\titanium\admin\src\libs\exsetup\exmisc.cxx:1092) Error code 0X80072014 (8212): The requested operation did not satisfy one or more constraints associated with the class of the object. Has anyone else seen this? I believe that once a domain has moved from being mixed Exchange 2003/2007 to only Exchange 2007 no Exchange 2003 boxes can be added into the domain, but I thought that more 2003 boxes could be added to mixed domain.  - OWA problems with win2008/exch 2007 sp1 I have a newly installed exchange 2007 sp1 on a win 2008 std server (no pre-existing exchange in my company) the DC is also a (different) win2008 std server (we also have a win2000 dc). the FSMO roles are on the win2008 1) when we go to https://web.companyA.com/owa we get the logon screen, then owa appears with place markers for the graphics, and the menu text. the emails don't appear. I have read a few site talking about an exch03 hotfix and rights, but iis7 is *very* different then iis6 i'm lost as to where i need to look. I did notice that win 2008 did not create a IISR_machine account, but there is a IIS_USR group (empty) do i need to create a user? what rights/etc? if i use forms based authentications, i can't even get the logon screen to appear. i get this URL: https://mail.companyA.com/owa/auth/logon.aspx?url=https://mail.companyA.com/owa&reason=0 and a blank screen. 2) my server is authoritive for companyA.com and non-authoritive [external relay domain] for company.com (so far in my initial test this works great :-) ) I would like my users to login as username, or email.address@company.com not username@companyA.local Any ideas, Tag: newest owa not working Tag: 166257

 - Exchange 2003 Installation I have Exchange 2003 Enterprise Edition already installed. We bought a new server which I installed Exchange 2003 Enterprise Edition and updated with Exchange Service Pack 2. The old Exchange Server Name is AESEX the new server's name is AESEXC. When I opened the Exchange System Manager on the new server I recognized that under the administration group I can see both the new and old servers. My question is, is this the way it is suppose to be. If not, please let me know how I can correct it. What is the sequence of steps to successfully move everything to the new server and the old server not to show up. How can I make the new server the same name as the old.  - Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003 Migration issue... Greetings! Thanks for daring to open a post with a subject line like THAT! Congratulations. Quick facts: Started with an NT 4.0 Domain, 1 PDC (of course) and several BDCs. Exchange 5.5 sat on the same machine as one of the BDCs The Exchange 5.5 machine uses the ISA 2000 Server Firewall Client to "Publish" mail access. I upgraded the Domain to Windows 2003, made two DCs, also moved DNS, WINS, and DHCP to those machines. I installed the ADC, ran through the wizards, cleaned up accounts and made the necessary Connection Agreements. I installed Exchange 2003 into the Exchange 5.5 Organization, same subnet as the Exchange 5.5 Server. Both Exchange System Manager (2003) and Exchange Administrator (5.5) show both servers in the organization. Now, the kicker... Mail sent from one Exchange Server to other, regardless of direction, merely queues up and is never delivered. Any suggestions on where to look to troubleshoot this problem?  - Sharing Content of Linked Mailboxes Hi! My platform is as follows: One server called SERVER1 is running Windows Server 2003 SP2, acts as a DC for domain DOMAIN1. Exchange Server 2007 (no SP1 installed yet) is running on this machine SERVER1. Another server called SERVER2 is running Windows Server 2003 SP2, acts as a DC for another domain called DOMAIN2. No Exchange installed on this machine SERVER2. There is a two-way transitive trust between DOMAIN1 and DOMAIN2. This is why I was able to set up the mailbox feature on the users belonging to DOMAIN2. It works fine: MAPI access, OWA, etc. As you may know, this is the Linked Mailbox feature of Exchange 2007. However, there is still a thing I can't do: to share a Linked Mailbox with another mailbox, Linked or traditionnal. I tried to use this PowerShell command: Add-MailboxPermission "Mailbox" -User "Trusted User" -AccessRights FullAccess It works fine for any normal mailbox (sharing Inbox, Calendar, etc.) but for a Linked Mailbox, I only manage to view the title in the left pane of my client Outlook 2003 SP3: Mailbox - John Smith (if John Smith is the user granting the full access to his Linked Mailbox).  - Moving/Replacing exchange 2007 setup to another machine My initial intentions were to run a brand new exchange 2007 server within a Virtual Environment using VMWARE. I created a windows server 2003 64 bit and proceeded with installing and configuring Exchange Server 2007. I've added a number of users (mailboxes) and feel I'm at the point I could put move this server into production. However, recently I've changed my mind about running our exchange services in a VM and would like to reinstall exchange onto a physical machine.  - E2K7 OWA External access problems I am having problems getting OWA to work outside of the LAN on an Exchange 2007 installation. The OWA works fine inside at: https://url.lan/owa . When I try to get in from the outside, I get the usual certificate error and then a "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error. The url is set up like: https://exchangeserver.url.com/owa.  - "Meeting Request" Strange Behavior We are running Exchange 2003 sp2 and Outlook 2003. I have an AD/Exch. acct. called "PartTime Jobs". When anyone sends a "Meeting Request" to this box a copy goes to another user (let's call that user "User A"). User A is NOT a "Delegate" on "PartTime Jobs". In fact, "PartTime Jobs" has only three "Delegates" listed on that acct. I check each of those acct(s) and they don't have ANY "Delegates" listed on their mailboxes. I also checked "Rules and Alerts" on everyone's mailbox and there are no rules. I can't find anywhere why User A should be getting a copy of "Meeting Requests". If I deleted User A's AD acct. I then get an NDR for that user even though all I did was send a "Meeting Request" to "PartTimes Jobs". I also checked "Permissions" on all the mailboxes and found nothing. Any ideas? Our active directory forest consists of a root domain (which is not dedicated) and 3 child domains My first W2K8 / E2K7 SP1 server will be a CAS / Hub Transport in the root domain so the authoritative domain will be created using the root domain's Active Directory name; ie: pc.company.com Child domains are: europe.pc.company.com; japan.pc.company.com, etc However, I cannot install an E2K7 SP1 mailbox server in the ROOT DOMAIN until issues with our SAN are resolved which will take about 2 months. Child domain E2K7 SP1 servers will be setup to have all the server roles: CAS / Hub T / Mailbox server. Also, I have all the equipment for the child domains. So, as not to hold up installing E2K7 SP1 in the child domains I thought I could do the following: (1) Install my first E2K7 SP1 CAS / Hub Transport server in the ROOT DOMAIN (pc.company.com ). This will make my authoritative domain my internal Active Directory name: pc.company.com (2) Then install E2K7 SP1 in the child domain such as europe.pc.company.com with the roles of CAS/HubT/Mailbox server roles. (3) Then go to the next child domain and install E2K7 SP1 with the roles of CAS/HUB T/ Mailbox server I understand how I need to setup my connectors, etc. Any reason why I could not do this?  - Exchange 2007 is mad at us and our "distinguishedName" generation says MSFT PSS, any way to customize it? Hi All, We are investigating a problem we are having when synchronizing our GAL with another organization. The other org's AD seems to be changing the DNs of objects once they are over there. Thus if an object is deleted on our side, the next time it goes over it cannot be deleted as the original DN is gone. If an object on our side is modified, it gets created on the destination side as a similar looking duplicate as the original DN is gone. As far as I know objects on their side are getting to our side ok. I'll confirm it in the morning. The other side is using Exchange 2007 (Waiting to hear if SP1 is applied or not). Our Environment: Windows Server 2003 SP2 Active Directory Schema Version 44 (Server 2008 RTM) Forest Functional Mode = Windows Server 2003 Exchange Mode: Mixed (still have 1 Exchange 5.5 site to decommission) Our users's display names usually looke like "Lastname, Firstname (DEP)" with (DEP) being a 3 character department code, matching the department code on the organization tab in Active Directory Users & Computers. Many of the admins put this into the "Full Name" field in ADUC during user creation instead of adding it to the display name afterwards. Microsoft PSS today said it is being caused because we have spaces in our DNs and Exchange 2007 absolutely hates spaces in DNs to the point of where it won't accept them. Sooo, I created 5 users and did a few rename operations to make sure I understood how DNs are generated. Skip the next stuf if you don't care to see what I did. :-) 1. The then DN is created off of the CN. If you come back later and change only the "Full Name" in ADUC, the CN & DN both change, but displayName does not change this second time around. If you change the displayName, the CN & DN does not change. If MSFT PSS comes back and says "Sorry, you're screwed unless the DNs change", is there a way to configure how AD generates the DN to be something like %g.%s for given.surname like you can do in Recipient Policies? We have 30k plus accounts all with spaces in the DNs. I've never run into this being a problem before and it could be a huge one if PSS is correct for when we migrate to Exchange 2007 ourselves.  - SMTP Virtual Server I have Exchange 2003 installed on a seprate server and the SMTP Virtual Server on a seprate server. Can I Move the SMTP virtual Server to the same exchange server since we are a small company and the number of mail box less than 15 users. Did you install SP1?

Please backup C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\Owa\8.1.2xx.x

After that copy 8.1.24x.x to 8.1.26x.x

Try again, if not solved restore backup from first step.
