Hi,

I have two NT4 servers (same NT Domain) and Exchange 5.5 running one of the
the NT server. I need to consolidate both servers into one (new hardware)
and upgrade to a Windows 2003 R2 and Exchange 2007. Since I have never done
this before, I wish to get some recommendation, please. Could someone help,
please?

Thanks very much,
Aldous

The just of it is that you cannot in-place upgrade any previous version of
Exchange to 2007.
You will have to upgrade 5.5 to 2000/2003 and install 2007 into the same
org.

My bet is that you might as well save yourself time by using EXMERGE to
extract 5.5 mailboxes to PST and start a new 2007 Org. This is provided that
your organization is 100 or less else you may want to use the 1st option
above by upgrading.

Thanks Danie,

I am interested with the Exmerge option. Could you tell me more:
- Will it migrate everything?
- Will I have to reconfigurate every clients to connect to the new Org.?
- Anything that I should be aware?

Thanks again,
Aldous

All Exmerge does is to create a PST from the user's mailbox with some
additional information that is required to merge into any other (in your
case the new) Exchange org.

The steps are as follows (basically 2 steps that can be performed seperately
ot combined):

1. Use Exmerge to extract items from mailboxes (you can do more than one
at a time). This action leaves the original mailbox intact in case you want
to roll back.
2. Use Exmerge to populate the new mailbox.

For more info see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/327304
