Hello,

We use outlook web access but users get a 500 internal server error.
Everything worked fine untill I used the LOG ON TO feature for the accounts
of the users.
Users are restricted to log on only to terminal servers.
When I change this setting to 'log on to all computers' owa works fine
again.
But I don't want users to have the possibillity to log on to all computers.
We have 7 servers. On one of these servers OWA is installed.
If I let users log on to all 7 servers (so I insert all 7 servers into the
'log on to feature') this damn
500 internal server comes in again.
Is there something I'm missing. If users can log on to all servers than this
must be enough I think???

thx in advance

Ramon

Is this for Exchange 5.5 ? If so, then you need to give your OWA users the
'Log On locally' right on the OWA/IIS server. You don't need to allow them
to log on to /all/ computers, just go to the OWA/IIS server and give them
(the 'Domain Users' group, or the 'Everyone' group) the 'Log On locally'
right on that server.

Yes ...thats correct.
We have a serverpark with 5x windows 2003 servers (2 domaincontrollers and 2
terminalservers and
1 file/printserver) and 2x windows 2000 server (Exchange 2000 and Isaserver)

Okay. The 500 error on its own isn't enough to diagnose the problem. 500
is just an HTTP status message meaning that 'something went wrong executing
the code on the server', but it doesn't help us to find out what.

There should be another error further down the page, usually an eight
character hexadecimal number. Can you see it? If not, you may have
'friendly http error messages' enabled in your IE advanced options, and this
would obscure the most helpful error numbers.

Hello Lee,

I indeed had 'friendly http error message' enabled.
I disabled it and now I receive the following..

-2146893052 (0x80090304)

Maybe you know what this means?

thx

Ramon

I'm afraid not. There are a few references to it on the MS Web site,
though. Unfortunately none of them look likely. Is there any text
displayed alongside the error message?

Lee.

Does it leave a message in any of the server's event logs?
