hi

users are getting the same email several times, this seems to be only
when one user send to multiple other users
-it does not involve external email (inbound or out bound) - and it
does not happen on a one to one email.
what may be related; some email to multiple internal users is returned
to the sender ..

Could not deliver the message in the time limit specified. Please
retry or contact your administrator.
<mta5.srv.hcvlny.cv.net (tcp-daemon) #4.4.7>

what also confuses me is that the message seems to come from our ISP -
but these are all one exchange user to another!

exchange server 2003 sp2
windows server 2003 standard edition

any ideas?

Does this happen when you test using OWA?
What besides Exchange is in each user's Outlook profile?
I presume you're hosting your own mail and not using POP/etc in your
clients, or a POP connector, right?

some users are on OWA, some on outlook, some on outlook express - some
use outlook at work and OWA at home

these users only have exchange to send and receive

correct, we are hosting our own mail - but the exchange server is a
pop3 server as well as
smtp

thanks

Well, I don't personally like using Exchange as a POP server (there are
better options), but it certainly can work. The first thing I'd try is to
check using two mailboxes in OWA, to see whether the problem is reproducible
there, as it sidesteps the POP stuff.

I'll give that a try, thanks -
I was thinking it was a routing issue, but it seems thats only a
problem
on mail coming from the outside.

I'll let you know on the OWA try
