I ran forestprep and a memebr server (standard 03/exchg 03) after adding
.net, .asp IIs and etc. and I am not getting the Organization Name screen.

The screen that specifies a name for your exchange organization. Could this
be because I have the trial version installed? Is there anywhere to check if
there is an organization name already chose? What would happen if I left this
as is?

Hi,

Running Forestprep will not give you your exchange organization. The
Forestprep option just extends the schema. The organization name will show up
when you install the actual application.

Is this the first exchange server in the organization?

yes and I went ahead and installed xchge server, however, should I have or
not have in system manager a + sign and a entry for "Servers"?

Hi,

You should have an entry for servers and the actual server listed below
that.

since there is not an entry should I restart the whole process or is there
another route to troubleshoot?

Hi,

Look in the services mmc and make sure that there are a number of Microsoft
Exchange services - including the Information Store service. If not start
the exchange setup again and make sure that the collaboration service is
selected for installation (also apply the service pack again).

I have the following, some started some disables:
MS xhnge:
event
imap4
inf store
management
mta stacks
routing engine
site replication
system attendant

if these are not common to a successful install I will follow your last
instructions for setup.

Hi,
These are the correct entries, are they currently in a running state?

When you run system manager do you get anything, also check the application
and system logs to see if there are any warnings or errors.

How many exchange server do you have in the organization?

Are there any 5.5 server, if not did you upgrade from 5.5 to either 2000 or
2003 of exchange?

I suspect that there is a 5.5 server somewhere and the repication service
needs to be started for you to see all the servers in the organization.

No mail servers here, I have my DC running 2003 sbs premium, however I never
configured it to be a mail server. I had an extra system with extra media and
decided to place mail server on another system (member server) than DC, that
way they both donâ??t go down if they do.
So I installed server 03 standard and trail version exchange on newly
created member server (11/06). I did not remove it since I saw on another
post that I could install full version over the trail version. I install
necessary services (ASP, SMTP NNTP and etc), ran forestprep and domainprep on
member server.

Hi,

Just wanted to let you know I am currently researching this issue, I suspect
that the problem is with the exchange server on SBS must need to run on the
same machine, I am in contact with a collegue of my to confirm this. I
suspect that the problem lies in either the exchange server needs to be run
on a DC or there is a confirguration change on the ISA server ports that
needs to be opened.

Let me know if you come across anything.
