POP3 failing top connect from outside network

I enabled pop3, and set the binding to 0.0.0.0:110, ie open to anyone(I
think). When I connect to it from the local network with the local IP it
works perfectly, but when i try to connect via the external IP from outside
the company or even from within, the port seems closed. Whats wrong?

What version & SP of Exchange are you using, and why did you do what you did
to your IP binding at all? Is port 110 forwarded/open in your firewall? You
don't need to do anything specific in the virtual POP3 server, really.

I have confirmed with the ISP that 110 is opened and forwarded to exchange. Its nice to see that my suspicions that they were incorrect might be right.

I'm not a 2007 guru, alas, and I don't use POP3 much, but you can certainly
test this....

Can you telnet successfully inbound on the public IP on port 110? FQDN
on110?

But why is your ISP involved? Don't you control your own router/firewall
hardware & port forwarding?
