I'm installing exchange 2003 on a windows 2000 server which is also a domain
controller. I'm doing the Typical install option. Halfway through the
installation, it prompts me for a file named
microsoft.exchange.oma.exchangedataprovider.
I cannot locate this file on the CD. I searched the web and found that the
file is available for download, but it costs $10 to download. Must I pay to
obtain this file or can I get it elsewhere for free?

The actual file name is: exchangedataprovider.dll

The file is on the Exchange Server 2003 CD in:
setup\i386\exchange\OMA\Browse\bin\exchangedataprovider.dll

It sounds like you may have Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/View
configured to:
Hide file extensions for known file types
and
Hide protected operating system files and folders

You may have a damaged CD or an incomplete copy of the CD.

Hope that helps,
