I have a Windows 2000 Domain, 3 DC's one of the DC's is
running exchange 5.5. The current 2000 domain was just
upgraded from NT 4. I'm running a 2003 ADC for the
exchange 5.5 server and Active directory.
I have a windows 2003 server with exchange 2003
installed, and I'm in the process of migrating from the
5.5 server to the exchange 2003 server.
Everything has gone fine, I went through all of the
Steps for installing exchange 2003 with exchange 5.5.
After
installing exchange 2003 on the 2003 server, I get
Event ID 9157 and after I logon to the exchange server It
just sits there saying Applying computer settings. When I
connect to the server's event log It has the event 9157
which says that the Microsoft Exchange System Attendant
does not have sufficient rights to read Exchange
configuration objects in Active Directory. When I look at
the service it is set to log on as Local System Account.
So I change it to the Domain Admin account and the
computer starts up but Exchange System Attendant Starts
and then stops. I went over Article - 297295 and
everything was in order.
The Server is having no problem logging onto the Domain.
Can anyone give me some ideas.

Have you changed any GPO's especially the default domain GPO? Did you move
the server?
Permissions change?

Reading the configuration container information is usually name resolution
or a permissions change. If it used to work, then something changed. Group
membership, GPO, or something similar. Are you the only one who could have
changed anything?
Or is it possible that somebody else did something and this is the result?
