Hi

What I'm having is a test Exchange server hosting email accounts for
test.domain.com. When everything is properly set up, I'd like to make
changes so that the test Exchange server will be the live server, and the
server will host accounts for domain.com instead of test.domain.com.

As of now, I have practiced using the following steps for the above changes
to work.
-Change Default SMTP Virtual server property | Delivery
|Advanced | FQDN

-Change Recipient policies | Email addresses (policy)

-Change Certificate in IIS

Please let me know if there is more that I need to do. Or, is there any
link that I can read more about this ?

Thanks much
Steve

Hi,

If you by "host accounts for domain.com instead of test.domain.com" mean
that you plan to move the exchange server from a child domain to the root
domain this is not possible.

If the exchange server is installed in a child "test" domain it can host
mailboxes from users in root domain.

You should also remember to redirect your mX record pointing to domain.com
to the IP address of the exchange server, apart from that your plan sounds
good.

Hi Leif

I'm still trying to make sense of what can be done. Thanks though for your
reply.
