Uninstall Exch2003 +error on ActiveSync & DAV

Hi

I tried to uninstalled Exchange 2003 SP2 on a front-end server. During the
process I received two error messages. In the EventLog, they showed up like
this:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Microsoft Exchange Server
Event Category: None
Event ID: 5000
Date: 6/7/2006
Time: 8:47:53 PM
User: N/A
Computer: SG-MAIL-04
Description:
EventType exchangesetuperror, P1 6_5_6944_0, P2 remove, P3 microsoft
exchange messaging and collaboration services, P4 install, P5 80080005, P6
exchange activesync, P7 0, P8 NIL, P9 NIL, P10 NIL.

and

Event Type: Error
Event Source: Microsoft Exchange Server
Event Category: None
Event ID: 5000
Date: 6/7/2006
Time: 8:52:03 PM
User: N/A
Computer: SG-MAIL-04
Description:
EventType exchangesetuperror, P1 6_5_6944_0, P2 remove, P3 microsoft
exchange messaging and collaboration services, P4 install, P5 80080005, P6
base dav protocol, P7 1, P8 NIL, P9 NIL, P10 NIL.

The uninstallation process continued even with these errors.
The uninstall process finished, I restarted the server, but the server was
not removed from the Exchange Org and the services are still on the server -
but disabled and/or stopped.

Have anyone seen this problem before and maybe you know how to solve it.

Hi,

I haven't seen this before so I think that you have 2 options.

1.) format the server and remove the front-end server using exchange system
manager

2.) remove the exchange installation manually using this

Hi Leif

Thanks for your reply and suggestions.
Since we are going to reinstall this server anyway, we manually removed the
server from the Exchange org.
Everything looks fine after that, so I guess this is "case closed".
