Hi,
Find the below steps for Disaster recovery:
1. Format Existing exchange 2003
2. Install Windows 2003
3. Apply windows Service Pack
4. Install antivirus & any other security patches.
5. Take exchange backup from ( Running exchange server )
6. Disconnect running server from lan
7. Rename computer name of new Exchange 2003 server to (exchsvr)
8. Change ip of new exchange 2003
9. Reset computer account for (exchsvr) from active directory user &
computer snapin on any domain controller.
10. Make new server as a member of example domain.
11. Reboot the server.
12. Continue installation of exchange 2003 with disaster recovery
option.
13. Put exchange installation media in cdrom.
14. Run command <cdrom>:\ENGLISH\EXCH2003\STANDARD\SETUP.EXE /
domainprep
15. Run command to install exchange in disaster mode.
<cdrom>:\ENGLISH\EXCH2003\STANDARD\SETUP.EXE /
DisasterRecovery
16. Select installation path for exchange to "D:\Program Files
\Exchsrv"
17. While installing select Exchange management Tools.
18. Run command to install exchange Service pack 2 in disaster mode.
<Extracted dump path for Exchange>:\E3SP2ENG\setup\i386\update.exe /
DisasterRecovery
19. Start all exchange service which are stating to auto start.
20. Copy exchange backup from (Running exchange server)
21. Restore exchange backup using NTBACKUP utility.
22. Reboot the server.
