We currently have a Win 2k domain and EX 2k is on a 2k server, I would like
to install Ex2003 on a new server with Win 2003, without upgrading the domain
to 2003. The current domain controller is a different server Win 2k.
Is this possible or do I have to upgrade the domain first?
Thanks for any advice or help.
Kevin

Hi,

You don't have to upgrade the domain - see
http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/evaluation/sysreqs/2003.mspx

Good article but not quite helpful in my situation.
My main concern is; 1. Can I install Ex2003 on a new install of Win 2003
while the old EX 2k is still in place then do the migration or do I Have to
install Ex 2k on the new Win2003 then migrate then upgrade ex 2k to 2003?
2. Does having a WIN 2003 inside a Win2k domain affect anything?
Thanks

Hi,

You can have exchange 2003 running on windows 2003 in an windows 2000 active
directory. You won't be able to use rpc over http but that should be the
only thing missing from the full package.

Thanks Leif. How about the migration process, my #1 concern, any insight on
that.
