    - ISA is not listening to port 443 I am setting OWA with the internal certificate. I have also set up my ISA to listen to to the external IP address. I have installed certificate on both ISA and Exchange 2003 server and I have published the Web publisher on ISA. Accessing internally using <https://www.myserver.com/exchange> is OK but from Internet it says "Page cannot be displayed" and DNS error. My ISA is a member server and is a part of another domain separated from the domain where the Exchange 2003 server. Do I need to intall the certificate on the DC where ISA resides?.     - OWA in a mixed environment Hi everyone, We are currently running two environment, exchange 2000 and 2003, but plan on completely switching to 2003 soon. None of the 2003 servers currently have mailboxes on them as we are just in the in the process of setting everything up. All servers are in the same admin group. The existing OWA server has 2000, and I have a question about how to get new OWA 2003 going without causing the ex2k server any problems. The goal is to gradually move mailboxes to 2003, and of course, we want the mailboxes that are not yet moved to have all the functionality they're used to. For mailboxes that do get moved, how do we get ex2k3's OWA going for them? Will is require a new URL? new external IP? How can I get this to work? Thanks a lot in advance!     - RPC-HTTP Tab greyed out Greetings, Everyone, I have an Exhcange 2003 Server, which I am trying to set up RPC over HTTP, on.. I have the general idea, sine I have set it up successfully at three other sites.. Here is the setup: SSL provided by Verisign Since Exchange 2003 SP1, not a GC or DC.. Here is what I have done. Enabled RPC-HTTP Made Registry Edit to include te right ports on both the Exchange Server and the GC .. On the client side configured outlook correctly.. (agin I have it working in several places) -- Run Outlook /rpcdiag --seems like I am always trying to connet via TCP/IP Something Strange. .... Recently I noticed, that when I click on the RPC-HTTP tab in system manager, it is greyed out and spits out an error indicating it can not find the expected file.. ANy suggestions?     - 0XC103FC93 Error Message When Running EX2003 Setup In going through the Exchange 5.5 to 2003 migration steps I have gotten all the way to the step where Exchange is actually installed. I have setup the ADC (the one from the Exchange CD) and in running the setup when I try the option to Join and Existing 5.5 server I get the following error message: 0xC103FC93 Setup encountered an error while attemtping to bind to the Exchange server "____":0xC103FC93(64659): The Exchange 5.5 directory service could not be contacted. Please ensure that the service is running properly, that it is listening on the correct portm and that you have the appropriate permissions needed to connect to the server. The servers are on two different domains however I have estabilished a trust and have made sure that the administrator from the new 2003 domain is at the three levels in the 5.5 exchange administrator. In another site they reference a 5.5 hotfix that will resolve this issue however no other information was given. Does anyone have any idea where I should go from here. Any help would be great.     - OWA not working right I have just set up a W2k server with Exch. 2K3. I got the e-mai portion working correctly (can send and receive e-mails bot internally and from the outside world using outlook and thunderbird) The problem is aI can't get Outlook Web Access working properly When I go to OWA ip address I get the initial pop-up login screen when I enter the username and password the pop-up comes up again wit the username as "192.168.1.18\username. I reenter the password an then I get a simple looking page that has a single line that states Error: Access is Denied.     - Replacing exchange 2000 server with new server hardware. Hello I am replacing a current exchange 2000 server running on windows 2000 with new server hardware. The new server is running windows 2000. I have done forest and domain prep, installed exchange 2000 on the new server, configured replicas in the public folders, changed all server roles to the new server, migrated all mailboxes to the new server and everything is working great. All clients have detected the change of servers and mail is flowing. I now want to remove all replicas of the old server from public folders, however when I attempt to remove the last replica of the old server from the configuration public folder I am prompted for a password. The account that is filled in the username is the admin account that I am logged in as. When I put in my password it keeps popping back to that log in dialog and won't accept my password. Since I didn't set up that old server I have no idea what a password might be. After all that my question is can I safely remove the old server with that replication instance still in the configuration folder, or will I cause terrible problems?     - Removed Exchange from AD on additional DC while connected to main DC (SBS2003 SP1) Long story short... was attempting to migrate a SBS2003 SP1 box using Swing Migration method... seee www.sbsmigration.com... The steps, add a member server to domain and dcpromo it... turn on global catalogue on this DC... seize all of the roles and then SHUT DOWN the SBS box and then go thru and toss out what will be rebuilt as part of the Swing Migration on the added DC... Everything went smooth until I had removed Exchange using AD Sites and Services and AD USers and Computers. However as both boxes were still online and connected this replicated to the SBS box. (Just shortly after deleting Exchange it hit me that I had the DC connected... ) Is there a way to rebuild these or can I uninstall Exchange and reload it? Guess I'm looking for some direction as to the best method to rebuild this information and to get my mail running again. I have full backup. The SBS2003 nox is a standard install at SP1. TIA.     - Problem setting up SMTP virtual server correctly I went to exchange manager and created a virtual server under protocols- smtp. I created a new user with the new servers domain address. I have registered the MX record and did a dnslookup to verify it is responding. I can send out an e-mail from the new domain but can't receive e-mails - this is the error message I get when sending to it This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.     - OWA problem accessing from Internet Problem I have a single Exchange 2003, and ISA server and I have set up Desination set, Publishing Server etc. I have installed a certificate server on a server in a different subnet.     - Exchange Server ActiveSync HTTP_403 We're running SBS 2003. Exchange is working, both from Outlook and the web using OWA. ActiveSync synchs PPCs to Outlook, but not Exchange Server. The error is 'Your account does not ahve permission to sync with your current settings' and HTTP_403.     - OMA question I have SSL setup for my OWA. And it works fine. I'm trying to get OMA working. I get prompted for username and password, but then I get this message: A System error has occurred while processing your request. Please try again.     - Miration Wizard can't connect to 5.5 server I am trying to use the Exchange migration wizard in SBS 2003 to attach to an Exchange 5.5 server running on Windows 2000. When I run the Exchange Migration wizard I get to the point where it tries to connect to the old server. The wizard comes back with an error saying it can't connect check the server name, LDAP port and user ID or password. So far in an attempt to troubleshoot, I have looked at the Exchange 5.5 server to ensure that LDAP was enabled and is using the default port 389 I believe. Set a new pasword on the 5.5 services admin account, rebooted and tried the local administrator account on the box and the exchange services admin account credentials with no luck. Any ideas?     - Setup not installing Exchange??? HELP! My organization is as follows: Domain Controllers - all Windows 2003 Server Windows 2000 server running Exchange 2000 What I am attempting to do, is bring up Exchange 2003 to run along side of Exchange 2000 until I can be sure everything is working correctly and I can get all of the mailboxes migrated. Here's what I've done: I have a server running Windows 2003 server with the latest security patches (not SP1). I ran exdeploy.hta and went through the process of Forestprep and then Domainprep with no errors. When I get to the point of installing Exchange, I select "deploy the first Exchange 2003 Server (because it's the first 2003 one - but not the first Exch. Server) and then "Upgrade from Exchange 2000 Native Mode. It then runs through the installation - takes less than a minute for the Exchange portion (first clue something's not right)...and most of the time is spent installing Exchange System Manager. When it's all done...there's no Exchange on this server. Just the System Manager - where my Exchange 2000 server shows up. Now, I've checked to be sure that I'm using the right CD (I am)....so I am a bit confused as to why it's not installing Exchange. There are no errors that I can see.     - Exchange 5.5 Migration - Connection Agreements I am performing a migration from Exchange 5.5 to 2003. I installed the Active Directory Connector and it created 3 connection agreements, Config, Public Folders, and Users. The Users connection agreement has From Exchange to Windows setup as its replication direction. This was done by default. If I create a new account in AD and setup the mailbox on the Exchange 2003 server, I can't send mail to the users who are still on the Exchange 5.5 server. If I create a new mailbox on the 5.5 server and say it is stored on the 2003 server then it works but it created a second identical user account that is disabled. My question is: If I change the replication direction to Two-Way will this take care of my problem. If I create a new user and mailbox on 2003 what will then show in Exchange? A mailbox? Contact?     - Exchange 5.5 Upgrade Error Hi all. Some background: We are migrating to a 2003 AD domain. However our Exchange 5.5 server is also our NT4 PDC of our old domain. So I have to move the exchange server before I can decommission the PDC. To minimize the impact on users, I want to add a second exchange server as a member of the AD domain and moving the mailboxes over. Now here's the problem. Our Exchange 5.5 source is an upgrade version. So I managed to get Exchange 5.0 installed and connected it to our existing install. I can see it in the Exchange administrator and everything seems fine there. However when I run the 5.5 setup I get an error "This version of Exchange can only upgrade an existing installation".     - Exchange 2003 with /3GB and /PAE boot.ini switches I have a question on the /3GB and /PAE boot.ini configuration options. I have a Dell PE2850 cluster installed for a client with 4GB memory in each node, but Windows 2003 SP1 only reports 3.25GB memory. Additionally, I have a pair of load-balanced OWA servers (also dell PE2850s) with 4GB of RAM, no mailboxes, and they can only see the 3.25GB as well. However, if I use the /PAE switch on all servers, all 4GB are visible. According to Microsoft, Exchange 2003 can only "efficiently use" 4GB of memory, and theoretically, you're not supposed to use /PAE on Exchange Systems. The problem that they reference is the possibility of data corruption when Exchange or other memory IO intensive applications (such as SQL) utilitze the space above 4GB. If I know that the system will not be upgraded with more memory, could I use the /PAE switch to provide access to that last .75GB of memory without adverse effects (since the system will only be accessing a total of 4GB of memory)? Go to the Recipient Policies in ESM and you will see where it says .local. Simply edit that to say .com or create another one in there that says .com and set that to be primary, either is good (in your case) Now go to AD Domains and trusts and get the properties. Not the forest but the AD Domains and trusts object above it. You will see the UPN there. Change that to .com Now use ADMODIFY (google and download for free) and mass set/change everyone's UPN to the .com one Users will now be able to use OWA and enter their UPN, which is probably the same as their smtp email address, to log on.     - SRS Due to the fact that the native mode button was grayed out, I deleted the Exchange Site Replication Service in System Manager. That allowed me the option of changing my Exchange to native mode. However, I later read KB articles that the receipient/public folders need to be deleted FIRST (which I have not done so yet). The Config CA is already deleted when SRS was deleted in System Manager. My question is can I go to the ADC now and delete the receipient/public connection agreements and then go to the old Exchange Administrator to delete the directory replication connectors. Since I deleted the SRS in System Manager first, will this have any negative problems/effect? Or can I just go ahead and finish the rest of the SRS removal. thanks.     - Unable to Move Mail boxes I recently began an exchange migration from 5.5 to 2003. Everything seems to be installed correctly. But after the installation when i try to move mailboxes from my exchange 5.5 server which is on a different domain. I get an error code = "0xc1041724". An internal processing error has occured. Try restarting the Exchange System Manager or the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service or both. I searched on this error and found a few articles about the settings ont he users are not correct in AD. I ran domain prep and all the other prerequisites succesfully.     - Removing Exchange 5.5 I used ADC to migrate my mailboxes & public folder to Exchange 2003. Everything is working properly. Now I have to remove the Exchange 5.5 from my organization. According to the documentation 'Migrating from Exchange 5.5' page 69, I need to connect to my Exchange 2003 using Exhange 5.5 Administrator Program to delete the Exchange 5.5 server. You can do an in-place upgrade with the final version.
Just run setup over the existing installation.
