Hello,

hopefully someone will be able to help me, I'm stuck on a problem.

I have a cluster of 2 2000 advanced servers, running e2k3. The problem
is the http service has never run properly on one of these, so I tried
to fix it (I inherited this site just a few months ago, so no one
really knows whats going on!).

Long story short I tried a few fixes to get this up and running, so as
a last resort I tried to reinstall iis and exchange on the box (I said
I'd try it first without removing the common IIS files, so it wouldn't
affect the cluster service). Things were going to plan, until I tried
to reinstall exchange, thats were the really messy problems come in!

When I try to reinstall it prompts me for a 5.5 site, but there is no
5.5 site, its a native 2000 - 2003 exchange organistaion. As a drastic
measure i tried to uninstall exchange from the server, bu then i get a
80005000 error when it tries to uninstall acitvesync (an invalid adsi
pathname was found). From trawling through the web it looks like a
probelm with the ad schema, so i tried running forestprep and
domainprep, but the logs report back that they had already been run
(of course, but i thought they might have repaired something corrupt).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated before I go any further,

Michael

I had the node cloned before i started work on it, so fortunately
after a lot of messing, I was able to put it back to the way it was.
But still can't run OWA on that node. Any other ideas? I was thinking
of maybe upgrading the OSes to win 2003. Not something i really want
to do, upgrading over an already flaky install. Any ideas?
