We built a temporary Exchange 2000 Server and moved the
mailboxes on to it. The Public Folders were replicated to
the temporary Exchange Server 2000.
We then rebuilt our Exchange 2000 e-mail server. It is a
Windows 2000 SP3(w/all MS updates) server with Exchange
2003. We moved the mailboxes to the new server and e-mail
is working great. The Free/Busy information, system
folders, and the Public Folders on the temporary server
will not replicate to the new server.
I found information that the source Exchange Server needs
to be an Exchange 2003 server. I upgrade the temporary
server from Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2003. I added the
replication in the properties of the items in the Public
folder as per MS Knowledge Base Article 822931 (How to
Remove the First Exchange 2003 Server from the Site).
The folders on the re-built exchange server (00EX001)
(Administrative Groups -> First Administrative Group ->
Servers -> 00EX001 -> First Storage Group -> Public Folder
Store (00EX001) -> Public Folders) do not display any of
the system folders and Outlook clients are displaying that
the Free/Busy information cannot be updated.
When I check: Administrative Groups -> First
Administrative Group -> Servers -> TempServer -> First
Storage Group -> Public Folder Store (TempServer) ->
Replication Status; all the listed folder list the "Number
of Replicas" as 2, "Last Received Time" is
blank, "Replication Status" is In Sync.
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Tim Horsfield
