So with the Public Folders thing, each Public Folder Store must be
associated with a Public Folder Tree. Only one Public Folder Store per
server can be associated with a Public Folder Tree. Furthermore, you can
only have 1 MAPI Public Folder Tree. All other PF Trees are non-MAPI
(General Purpose) and cannot be accessed by Outlook clients.
As it stands, the part about the Public Folders is invalid. As far as the
mailboxes bit, the answer is yes. Since security is managed by Active
Directory, it doesn't matter whether the mailboxes are on the same database,
same storage group, or even the same server, as long as they are in the same
Exchange Organization.
