Some messages that are forwarded internally from one user to another are
either not getting delivered or the attachments are screwed up in some way.
For instance, if one of the sales people get a message from an outside
vendor with an attachment, they have to forward the mail to the art
department so that the artwork can be reviewed. Of course the art
department people are using Macs, so they don't connect to the Exchange 2003
server the same way as everyone else; they connect either via pop3 or imap
clients. More often than not, the forwarded message won't be delivered
through the pop3 or imap service, even though the user can see the message
through OWA. However, in OWA they can't access the message. When they try
to click on it to preview or double click on it to open the message, they
get a 404 not found error.

My non-Mac users also have problems accessing forwarded messages with
attachments through OWA. This wouldn't normally be too bad a problem except
that I have some off-site users who aren't able to use their Outlook clients
to access their email (until I can get VPN setup) and have to use OWA. In
these cases, I'm trying to get the sales people to save the attachments
locally then send a new message to the off-site or Mac users. I'd still
like to find out what the problem is here, though. I hate trying to explain
to sales people why they have to do something different now that they didn't
used to have to.

There are only 10 types of people in the world;
those who understand binary and those who don't.

What is the mail format the sender is using to forward? Try plain text and
see if it works...
