Is it possible to import contacts into exchange 2003 like
we were able to import custom recipients into Exchange
5.5?

Yes, using CSVDE. The only difference is that you cannot modify them this
way. With this tool you can only create or delete the objects. VBScripts
are pretty easy to use for this as well.

Mike,
Please also consider using SimpleSync from CPS Systems. With it you have
full control over bringing in CSV files or LDIF files and placing them
however you would like in Exchange 2003/AD. You can select based on
attribute values, force values, build structure based on values - all
without any scripting or coding.
For more information and to download an evaluation copy of SimpleSync,
please visit www.cps-systems.com .
If you would prefer to see SimpleSync 'live', please contact me at
sales@cps-systems.com for a web demo using GoToMyPC or VNC. Thank you for
your time,
Jerry Welch
