Well, thanks for the input, but we've already tried the
information found in both KB articles multiple times, and
they haven't done anything.
The SiteFolderServer property in ADSI Edit (as discussed
in KB #284200) is already pointing to the correct
location. Trying to "reenter" the property value doesn't
change anything.
As far as using GUIDGen.exe, it does create a new GUID,
but doesn't cause replication to occur. The Public Folder
items still will not replicate to the Public Store itself.
I don't believe the issue is one of the Public folder
items having pointers to the wrong locations, as both of
those articles address, but that they weren't replicated
properly to the 2003 server before the 5.5 server was
removed from the organization.
We even went so far as to try deleting the folders, and
recreating them. Until we tried this, the Free/Busy and
AOB system folders didn't even exist. After recreating the
Public Folder Store, the folders DID appear in AD
(under "Folders\Public Folders" after selecting "View
Systems Folders"), but they were NOT replicated to the
public folder store, nor can you open or view any
properties for the items.
What I'm trying to figure out is how to recreate the
system public folders (Free/Busy & OAB) from scratch
successfully, before we are stuck with having to scrap the
entire mail system and recreate an Exchange 2003 based
system from scratch, rather than migrating
