I'm still getting the same error when running exmerge to
move mailboxes from my old 5.5 exchange to the new e2k3.
They are both in the same domain but in different
organizations. The 5.5 is running NT4. I've changed the
port to 390 on both, complied with articles, 288446,
262954, 823143 and 327304. After I enter the server name,
domain controller name and port number I get this "Error
encountered getting Mailbox information from the pirvate
information storer database on server test_exch01." I'm
really running out of ideas and time here and would
appreciate any help. Thanks...Mike

You should be running exmerge on the old server directly when exporting,
then on the new server when importing.

I've tried running exmerge on the 5.5 exchange server but
I get the error "The procedure entry point
GetcompouternameExa could not be located in the dymanic
link library Kernel32.dll." So I'm not quite sure where
the problem is. Thanks

Are you trying to use the same version of Exmerge on both servers? You need
the older version, 2.0 from the resource kit to pull the mail from the 5.5
server, the version on the 2000 CD won't work. Also, have you looked at this
article? Perhaps you'll see a step you're missing:

Susan,
I can't thank you enough. I owe you dinner. If you're ever
in Daytona Beach, FL, look me up. I've read dozens of
articles and attended several seminars and no one ever
mentioned these requirements for exmerge.
Thanks again, Mike
