Hi,
Installed exchange 2007 with mailbox, hub transport , unified messaging
and client access roles on one machine itself. There is no edge transport
server. I have enabled IMAP and POP3 and created ADS users and Exchange
users. I wish to send mails directly from this hub transport server.I am
using the default SMTP address policy. Tried to configure an account using
Outlook express but unable to access it stops at the user name and password
prompt and i have checked that the password is corrrect. what else i am
missing that needs to be configured. Kindly explain.

Best Regards,
DD

One of us would be more likely to be of help if you described how you
configured Outlook Express in complete detail.

Hi,
Opened outlook express | tools | accounts | mail | add new accounts |
user name | password | defined the Exchange server ip for Incoming and
outgoing| selected IMAP | ok | it prompts for listing the folders but after
clicking OK it still prompts for user name and password and unable to access
the mailbox.

Did you enter the user name in the format domain\user_id\alias (or just
domain\user_id if user_id = alias)?
