Hi, During the install of 5.5 on 2000 with NT4 domain I get an error trying
to join our existing site. I put in current exchange server and if finds the
domain and site and starts copying files and doing other stuff, but then I
get a popup saying,

"A connection could not be made to the remote directory service, possible
due to a network failure"
ID No:c1030b11

I tried putting both servers in each host file also. Anyone have an idea on
how to fix this.

Thanks
Alex

I went through it and everything checks out fine. Any other suggestions.

I just had the same problem. someone mentioned firewalls as a cause. There
isn't one but it tweaked my memory on something else. Earlier this year we
were combating sasser I think and put some acl's on the router that happens
to be between these sites. I think port 135 or 445 or somesuch. Anyway, got
the same error you have I think c1030b11? Removed acl and off it went.
