Exchange 2007 SP1 Release Date??

Good day all,

I was wondering if anyone had an update on the Exchange 2007 Sp1 release
date. We're in testing now with Beta 2 - just trying to get it in on our
calendar.

I heard that Exchange Server 2007 SP1's release date is tied to the release
date of Windows Server 2008 (aka Longhorn). What I have heard (possibly
rumors) on this: is the RTM date should be the fourth quarter of 2007 and the
general availability should be sometime in the first quarter of 2008. I've
seen a couple sites mention April 2008 for general availability.

I've read the same things. I was hoping for more concrete news. We put
Exchange 2007 in at our Univerisity over the spring / summer. All is well -
but we're looking forward to the features. Our substantial Entourage
community is also looking forward to it. They see it as some sort of holy
grail.

We have beta 2 installed in our testing environment. We're hoping to be able
to deploy SP1 over the XMAS break. Course, that would mean that we'd need it
released by December 1 so that we could get it through testing and pre-prod.

In early October, I received a reply from someone at Microsoft saying that
they anticipated releasing it around mid to late November of this year. I
hope that is still true. (Of course it's still true; Microsoft NEVER slips a
release date!)
