    - Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007 Issue Hello, I need to verify something. We currently are running Exchange 2003. We have two domain controller. Both are Windows 2000. Exchange 2003 sits on one of these DC. I created a new DC with Windows 2003 and transfered all the roles over. I installed Exchange 2007. I can't seem to move any mailboxes over from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007. I get the following: Summary: 1 item(s). 0 succeeded, 1 failed.     - removal of first exchange server Hello all I have (or rather had) an SBS2003 box. We converted it to standard server products using a transition pack due to having more than 75 users. The transition was succesful. So now we have 1 box with windows 2003 server standard and exchange server 2003 standard installed. My intention is to add a new DC box and a separate new exchange box then use the old sbs box for another purpose. So far I have added the new DC and transferred the fsmo roles successfuly (i think). This box is also a fileserver. I have also added the new exchange server and installed exchange server 2003 and have moved some mailboxes over to the new exchange store. I have been following guidance from the MS article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822931/en-us and I am ready to complete the transfer of roles and services this weekend. I intend to complete the steps in KB822931 then uninstall exchange server from the original box. Then I will demote the original dc to a member server and tidy a few other things up.     - Exchange 2007 broke the server Hi, I installed Exchange 2007 on a 2003 R2 server. Subsequently logging in to the server took a long time and it turns out that GPOs were not applied since a domain controller could not be found. Web browsing from the server also did not work. Exchange event log reported that it could not access AD. After several days chasing DNS issues I have uninstalled Exchange 2007 (a major undertaking) and the server is back to normal. No other servers or clients had any AD problems at any time. Has anyone experienced this and found a solution? I need to install Exchange 2007 on this server but not if it breaks things.     - set-OrganizationConfig -SCLJunkThreshold not working? Hi all, I'v setup an exchange 2007 environment, wic h seems to be working just fine. I've acivated the anti-spam agents on the hub transport server, and when a user enables the junk mail filter in OWA spam messages get moved to the user's junk mail folder. But when i use the set-OrganizationConfig -SCLJunkThreshold cmdlet to set the level to 5 in stead of the default value of 4, the value does not seem to change. When I run a Get-OragnisationConfig, the value is unchanged. Am I missing something? And is there an easier way to enable the junkmail folder for users?     - Which Version of EX2007? As an academic institution, we have access to either version (Standard or Enterprise) of Exchange 2007. For us, the difference in cost is small enough that it is not an issue. We'll have around 1,500 mailboxes and our single server will be fairly beefy (2 x 2.6GHz QC Xeons, 8GB RAM, Lots os disk space). Hi, I am busy migrating from 2K3 to 2K7 and I have set up the 'Schedule+ Free/Busy' system folders to replicate to the 2K7 servers but something is still amiss. From OWA I can access Free/Busy Information when scheduling meetings but not from Outlook MAPI. What do I miss?     - Exchange 2007 - No incomimg mail - URGENT HELP REQUIRED Hi, I posted this question already a while a go but did not get an answer. So trying now again. we recently installed EX2007 with the following configuration: 1 Server for Hub, CAS and Mailbox, one as Edge transport server. The Edge Server is connected with one NIC directly to the internet (we did not set up a firewall yet) and with the other NIC to the switch where all other servers are connected to (like DC, etc) I followed quiet precisly the instructions of the set up and we are able to send outbound mail without problem. When I try to send an email or answer one of the sent mails, I get the following error: A configuration error in the e-mail system caused the message to bounce between two servers or to be forwarded between two recipients. Contact your administrator. So we tried also with a differnet mail system and got this error: SMTP-connection with IP [xx.xx.xx.xx:25] herzustellen Thu 2007-11-01 18:58:06: * IP xx.xx.xx.xx in connection failure cache for up to 5 minutes due to previous connection failure(s) I have no idea what could cause this error, any help is very much appreciated.     - Exchange Deployment I'm installing a new 2-node cluster exchange system. I already have one running exchange server which is domain controller and which i want to take off. I made the cluster configuration and i'm trying to install Exchange on one of the nodes. Whaen i try to install exchange i receive the following message error "failed to lookup the windows site to which this computer belongs, please verify that this computer and the domain controller use the same DNS server; that your computer is configured with correct site information and is in a windows domain where the domain controller is reachable ".     - prompting of network password when expanding public folders I have a hosted email environment. All works well. One DC 2003 Ent. SP2, one Exchange 2003 Ent. SP2. Every time I try to browse the Public Folders by expanding it in ESM, I get a promtp asking me for the Network Password. The pop-up window comes up pre-filled with my domain and exchange admin username and the password field blank. When I enter the password, I get in just fine.     - Exchange server removal Hi all, Lately, just migrated from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2003. We installed Win 2003 & Exch 2003 and join to existing Exchange 5.5 domain, migrated all the mailboxes & users. Now, promoted Win 03 svr & exch 2003 and demoted NT & exch 5.5, however, in Exch 2003, I can still see Exch 5.5 as member server even though I had removed and no connection to Exch5.5.     - Exchange 2007 IMAP4 and POP3. For some reason some people still want to use it. I have enabled IMAP4 on the CAS and Mailbox Servers but my login is being rejected from Outlook Express. Is there more to do? What I did was: 1. Enable IMAP4 on the MB server. 2. Create an account in OE with default settings. Everything else works (i.e. OWA, MAPI) for this account.     - Trying to reinstall Enchange 2003 - cannot enter account informati Hello. I had a problem with IIS and had to reinstall on my exchange 2003 server. I now need to reinstall Exchange, however when I run setup and say reinstall I get the second screen that says assign service account information and the username and domain is greyed out. There is no data in the username or domain field and they are greyed out so I am unable to type them in. The only field available is the password field. I can't get past this.     - Exch 2000 to Exch 2007 - Outlook sometimes still looking at Exch20 We moved from Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2007. Sometimes users in Outlook report that Outlook sometimes says it is trying to retrieve information from the old Exchange 2000 server. In Exchange 2007 in Organization Configuration->Mailbox->Offline Address Book it still shows the old Exchange 2000 server as the Generation Server.     - An Exchange 2007 server on which an address list service is active cannot be found I get this error when moving mailboxes from 2K3 to 2K7 and found an article that suggests that the System Attendant on the 2K7 stopped which is indeed the case.     - Exchange 2007 Roll-up 5 Hi, Just to let you know that I have found that installing this roll-up broke my Cliant Access/Hub Transport server whereas Roll-Up 4 is working as it should. Most of the services refused to start with errors ranging from "within specified time" to "30000 milliseconds". Uninstalling RU5 solved the problem. Anyone else picked this up?     - Exch2007: Version Buckets We are continaully getting high version buckets. Our attachment size is low and we dont have virus issues. Microsoft states that version buckets are the number of uncommitted changes in memory that have yet to be written to log. I am curious if the number of items in memory are related to the amount of memory I have? Shouldnt a 8 GB machine allow more uncommited changes to memory than say a 1 GB machine?     - Setting up second Exchange 2003, no services showing I have exchange 2003 running on one server. I've setup exchange 2003 on another server at a remote location, but on the same domain. The remote location has a DC there also. I installed exchange and everything went well. However, I see the folders and files that were installed, but I don't see any services listed to start exchange. The only thing I see in the exchange management tool. So I re-installed it again and it showed that exchange and management tool were already installed, but it let me install them again.     - CAS Server in perimeter We currently have a few FE 2003 Exchange servers in the perimeter network. We are planning replace those with 2007 CAS servers. I understand that Microsoft does not officially support CAS servers in the perimeter. However, I know people are doing it successfully.     - New address book issue Exchange 2003 SP2 I have created a new address book that contains contacts that are external to our mail domain, but it does not seem to be populating correctly. The address book query is: (&(objectCategory=person)(targetAdress=*example.com)) When I click the preview button, it only shows two contacts.... but when I click modify and then find now it shows all the contacts??     - Exchange 2003 and Pop3 Ok Guys hereâ??s the plan My company wants a Blackberry Enterprise server, howeverâ?¦.they use Sun Iplanet for company email and BES does not work with Iplanet. The idea I have is to setup an Exchange 2003 server to pull the email via pop3 from the Iplanet server, then have the BES server grab the email from exchange and pass it to the Blackberry device (our NY office has a setup like this using IBM Domino) Coming back the BES should just b able to pass the emails back via SMTP straight to the Iplanet mail server. The most important thing of all is that all emails MUST use the company email. For example if the email was for/from testy.mctest@test.com then all emails sent from the blackberry MUST show as being from/going to that address And thatâ??s where im getting stuck, I cant find enough info on that last part and thatâ??s the most important part of it. We are looking at having around 150-200 users on this system, so it seems using SBS2003 is out of the question. Can anyone provide some help with information for this?     - DNS I am setting up an exchange server for my work. When I add the DNS on the "forward look up zone" website.com I am getting a yellow triangle with an exclaimation mark on the folder.     - Exch2003/SBS2003 - Cannot Receive Emails I am working with a single Exchange 2003 / SBS 2003 server. Domain users stopped receiving external emails last Friday. I have sent test emails from several domains to this server for testing. No NDR is sent back. I am able to telnet to the domain on port 25. I reran the Internet Connection setup. The domain is platinumaquatech.com. Mail is routed using DNS and this is the only server in the company. MX records point directly to this server.     - EX 2007 - No incoming mail Hi, we recently installed EX2007 with the following configuration: 1 Server for Hub, CAS and Mailbox, one as Edge transport server. The Edge Server is connected with one NIC directly to the internet (we did not set up a firewall yet) and with the other NIC to the switch where all other servers are connected to (like DC, etc) I followed quiet precisly the instructions of the set up and we are able to send outbound mail without problem. When I try to send an email or answer one of the sent mails, I get the following error: A configuration error in the e-mail system caused the message to bounce between two servers or to be forwarded between two recipients. Contact your administrator. So we tried also with a differnet mail system and got this error: SMTP-connection with IP [xx.xx.xx.xx:25] herzustellen Thu 2007-11-01 18:58:06: * IP xx.xx.xx.xx in connection failure cache for up to 5 minutes due to previous connection failure(s) I have no idea what could cause this error, any help is very much appreciated. I need to verify something. We currently are running Exchange 2003.
We have two domain controller. Both are Windows 2000. Exchange 2003
sits on one of these DC. I created a new DC with Windows 2003 and
transfered all the roles over. I installed Exchange 2007. I can't
seem to move any mailboxes over from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007. I
get the following:
