I had a client come to me after a previous upgrade from Exchange 5.5 to
Exchange 2003, has gone kinda of wrong.
It's sounds like the ADC was used to connect the two Exchange boxes
directley to each other, with out using a bridgehead, which is my
understanding on how to do this.
The problem is this, the client want's to remove the E5.5 which is running
on Windows 2000, but can only create/manange mailboxes from the e5.5 box.
As the mailboxes have been moved over the thought is to backup all of the
mailboxes using Backup Exec. Remove the 5.5 box. Remove the E2003 box.
Remove Exchange from AD.
Format and re-intall the OS and Exhcange 2003, join it to the domain. Create
the mailboxes for all of the users. Once this is done restore the mailboxes
from the Backup.
We should end up with a fully functioning Exchange 2003 box.
Does any one have any comments/adviceon this?
