Can you install exchange 2003 into a domain where there are still some backup
domain controllers? my active directory domain will be in mixed mode for a
while. I currently have exchange 5.5

Technically? Yes. Should you? No. The reason? Because of the USG's. If
you don't have any folders (public, mailbox, etc) that use distribution
lists, you may be able to make it happen in a mixed mode domain. It's not
recommended though :)
