I was notified that we are going to have to setup an SSL Certificate for our
new Exchange server both internally as well as for outside users coming in
using OWA. We do not want to pay for this. How can I accomplish this and
how do I install the certificate so it will work for my internal and external
users accessing OWA? Thank you.

Unless your time is of no value, you'd probably be better off buying an
inexpensive certificate from someplace like GoDaddy. This is a very
straightforward and well-documented procedure, and using a public CA
makes it easier for you to install and manage the certificate for mobile
devices as well.

Buy a commercial cert, they are so inexpensive these days the time to setup
your own CA and manage it will not even come close to the money you save
just buying a commerical cert from Go Daddy or InstantSSL.
