Cannot install another E2k3 server in domain

I get an error trying to install my 2nd E2k3 server in my existing E2k
environment. I am in the process of migrating users from E2K to E2K3. I
have installed a 2nd server multiple times for OWA but for various reasons
have had to rebuild it.

Since it is only my OWA server I delete the server from AD and Exchange and
just start over.

However I am now getting the following error when I try to do another
install on a fresh server (it doesn't matter what name it is)

The component "Microsoft Exchange Messaging and Collaberation Services"
cannot be assigned Administration Group....blah,blah blah.

In the log I get the following : CComBOIFacesFactory::QueryInterface
(f:\titanium\admin\src\udog\bo\bofactory.cxx:54)
Error code 0X80004002 (16386): No interface.


I can't seem to find the match in the knowledge base that will fix my issue.
I have seen similar errors but nothing seems to match.

Any ideas?

Hi Tom,

I am assuming that you ran Forestprep and Domainprep before you installed
the E2K3 server?

When you are installing the server have to turned on the SMTP and NNTP in
IIS, E2K3 does need this to install.

What permissions on the account are you using to isntall E2K3

Hi Tom,

Well there can be many reasons why the setup must have failed.
If you can provide some background e.g. does you organization name has
any special Character, this happens if you have migrated from exchange
5.5.

Secondly what are the changes that you have done, and finally paste the
complete error that you get and also the error from the exchange setup
progress.log file.

Maybe then i can try and provide some help.
