OWA

I am trying to use Outlook Web Access here is what I have

Server 2003 (member server) running exchange 2003. I want to allow people
within the company to be able to jump on a computer outside our network
punch in a url which will allow them to log in with their user name and
password to OWA. Our current set up is a sonicwall firewall/vpn device with
everything behind it. I want them to be able to use the OWA without having
to use the VPN. I have been using the book Mastering Exchange server 2003
(By Barry Gerber) as my guide and have followed step by step how to map the
drive and get it set up.

I can link a network card on the server to a public static ip address and i
am off and running no problems. But I do not want to keep a public static
ip address on our server. Does anyone know how I can do this with out using
VPN or a public static ip.

well in my sonic wall settings it says NAT is enabled but outside of having
it enabled, I am not sure what else I would need to do.

Per the book i opened the proper ports, and in rules i have those directed
to the static private ipaddress of the server running exchange 2003 (which
is what I thought I was suppose to do) But it does not work (maybe i am
doing something wrong here, i type in the address bar the public ip address
for the sonic wall then do the /exchange?)

HTTP: port 80
HTTPS: Port 443 (SSL)
SMTP: Port 25

Answer to your question is yes,
your public IP/exchange will get you to OWA

Do not RUN OWA on port 80, use SSL Port 443,

You have to setup a NAT policy in the SonicWall to map an external IP
address to the internal address. Check the SonicWall instructions for the
process commonly called publishing a web server to the Internet.
