    - need some advice on user impersonation and vfp 8 We have an application that spans several generations of VFP and now have to make some modifications to it. It runs client/server to a sql database or an oracle database for starters. The app launches and the user must log in. This is a user and password that resides in our app and db. It is not integrated with the OS user in anyway. There in lies the problem. Now, we need to make all the properites of the user accounts in the app behave like OS users where you can require strong passwords, minimum lengths, expirations, memory, encryption, etc. All the things the OS generally handles. What I am thinking I might do is somehow map those user accounts to the domain user accounts (at least for windows domains) thru the use of thier account SID or something. Then give them a cmd line switch on launch to use that feature or not or something like that. Is this possible? If so, how? Do I hook into some windows API for this? Not really sure.     - Auto Dial and Disconnect in VFP Friends, Some months ago I was looking for a way to programatically dial and disconnect a SPECIFIED dial-up networking connecion. Although no VFP solution was found, today I came across a topic by the name of RASDIAL in windows help. There is an internal application in windows by the name of rasdial.exe which did what I wanted. (My OS is win XP Pro, however this application seems to be there in Win95 upwards) However while I was searching for topics related to RASDIAL in windows web knowledgebase, it appeared to me that there is an RASDIAL API also. My knowledge of API call is as good as none. I will appreciate it very much if some members please guide me towards better usage of this feature. I used the following code to connect and disconnect: run rasdial "Connection_name" "username" "password" run rasdial "connection_name" /d (I found details about the utility by searching by keyword "rasdial" in win XP help) Now I am looking forward to have following features: 1.     - Unzip WinXP Friends, Some months ago there was a posting of code for UNZipping in Window XP (code is appended below), it is working fine, however it creates an EXTRA folder under: C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Local Settings\Temp\ by the name of Temporary Directory 1 for UNZIPPEDFILE.zip Temporary Directory 2 is also created if the same file is unzipped again. After repeat runs on the same file, we may start getting curious results and messages. It we unzip big files, then the Hard Disk can get filled up without our knowledge.     - user-adjustable reports I have reports with one record in a tall detail band, no header, footer, title, nor summary. These are intended to be printed on pre-printed forms, with the text boxes filling in the blanks. As expected, there are alignment differences for different users using different printers. Alignment between the individual controls does not change, but margins do. I can allow the user to edit the report, but these users are not particularly computer savvy. I have grouped all the controls on the report, and I would like to allow the user to specify something like "move everything up 1/8 inch and right 1/4 inch", then have the app make the adjustment. Can this be done with report listeners? Or is it best to hack the report? Something like REPLACE hpos WITH hpos + 10 FOR objtype = 8 Or, since I have grouped the controls, is there a simple way to reposition the group? How are groups represented in the frx? What's *really* strange is that with escape bound, it works if I press any other key on the keyboard first. As soon as I suspend the program it seems to work properly too so debugging isn't easy. This only seems to be the case during a SCAN, I set a different procedure for escape after the scanning and that always works.     - SQL cursoradapters display of zero amounts weird When working with sql cursoradapters in grids, amounts are always missing the zero before the decimal point. e.g .00 or .45 instead of 0.00 and 0.45. They display correctly in a textbox. The VFP cursoradapter shows correctly in the same grid class so it can't be a formatting problem within the grid. If you BROWSE the cursoradapter, you again see the fields without the zero before the decimal points. What causes this and is there any way of forcing the zero to show?     - Auto Increment records like a new emplyee number In VFP9 I used the wizard to create an emplyee table, and indexed it on employeeid. Then I used the wizard and created a form to view and enter employee data. The first time I ran the form I used the command buttons and created a new employee and gave the employee an employeeid of 101. Entered all the rest of the table data and exited. The next time I ran the form, it automatically presents the data from the last record (which I thought I could hide by telling the data environment "no data on load", but it still shows the last record) The second thing is when I click add button, there was no indication as to where the cursor is (and I wanted it to start at the top of the form in Employeedid) so I editied the add button in the command group and tried this code, and it does put me where I want to be, but all the other data is still there) On the click event of the add button ThisForm.EMPLOYEEID1.SetFocus Lastly if I gave the first employee the ID of 101 and add a new employee what would you need to to to get it to assune the next emplyee should be 102?
