foxpro help is lock

hi

i'm using VFP8 SP1 , when i try to open foxpro help with f1 , it will
display a help page , but when i click the [sub]categories , it's lock me
up
so i split with HTML Help Wshop , and it's very painfull for me


anybody could tell me why i can't see foxhelp with the normal way ?

Hi Christian.

I'm running the same installation without any problems whatsoever.
To know what's going on, please post back
?SET(HELP")
?SET("HELP",1)
Does the file retuned in the 2nd statement exist?
Did you try copying the file retuned in the 2nd statement from the
installation CD overwriting the original?

Hi Christian:

If you open Windows Explorer and double click on the dv_foxhelp.chm file,
does it open and can you navigate through it? If you boot the machine in
Safe Mode, does this prevent the problem? If you start VFP with the -A
switch to bypass the registry settings, can you open the help file?

hi

the first line return ON and the second line return the chm of foxpro help
file.

i'm trying to open the original chm file from the cd , but nothing change ,
just lock up when i clik the topic or subcategory

should i reinstall it ?

Hi Christian,
Sounds like your HTML-help system fails. Does it also fail in other
HTML-help systems (dblclick on the foxtools.chm file in the VFP folder)?

Did you also try Lee's suggestion to rule out a VFP caused problem?

The VFP8 helpsystem is located in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Shared\VFP
There's a Foxhhelp8.exe which is used for running the help file. Maybe that
isnt correctly installed (or one of the files it depends on). A VFP8
reinstall should fix any problems.

now i know whats happen

when you install Norton AV then you install Kaspersky then you uninstall
that Norton AV , foxpro help is lock
then i scan with Norton Windoctor ,there is XML setting problem in my
registry , so it solved .

i dont know why , but my help is Ok now


Note: i think this Kaspersky Problem
