foxpro flashes when opening

Whenever i open VFP8.0 it starts to flash a lot...and then it opens.

is there a service pack or another fix for this? I reinstalled the app, and
it seems to do it more than before.

I've not heard that , try swapping video drivers to generic vfp to see if it
goes away -- maybe it's a video problem... ?

I don't think it is a driver, because a coworker has the same problem...but
her's doesn't do it as much, mine flashes for about 5 seconds before it
opens..

do you mean WinXP is flashing orange in the task bar? to catch your
attention of a program that has opened and is not the program being viewed
(active).

or the whole screen is flashing?

I agree this is probably the Windows video driver.

Does this same "flashing" behavior occur on a totally different machine?
Different video card, computer manufacturer?

Since it seems to be video driver related, do you still get the problem if
you upgrade the driver?
If not, what happens if you back off the acceleration level
(in control panel->display->settings tab->advanced button->troubleshoot tab)

I tried a new driver from Dell and it didn't do any good...same problem...i
tried to backoff teh acceleration and still no luck..

any other ideas???

have you tried a plain vanilla vfp9 (all options set at default)
no task pane manager on at startup. a blank config.fpw, no resource file.
