    - Zipping in WinXP Friends, Some months ago (on 14th Dec 2004) there was a posting of code for Zipping in Window XP (code is appended below), it is working fine if 1. I compress a complete folder (giving only path of the folder) 2. I compress a complete folder (giving wild card like - "C:\myproject\*.*" as source) 3. I compress a ZIP file again However we get an empty ZIP folder if we want to zip ONE specific file in a folder, like we do not get desired results if we give "C:\myproject\test.txt" as source.     - Unzip WinXP Friends, Some months ago there was a posting of code for UNZipping in Window XP (code is appended below), it is working fine, however it creates an EXTRA folder under: C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Local Settings\Temp\ by the name of Temporary Directory 1 for UNZIPPEDFILE.zip Temporary Directory 2 is also created if the same file is unzipped again. After repeat runs on the same file, we may start getting curious results and messages. It we unzip big files, then the Hard Disk can get filled up without our knowledge. It there some solution so that this folder is either not created or deleted automatically after unzipping. I will look forward to have your comments.     - user-adjustable reports I have reports with one record in a tall detail band, no header, footer, title, nor summary. These are intended to be printed on pre-printed forms, with the text boxes filling in the blanks. As expected, there are alignment differences for different users using different printers. Alignment between the individual controls does not change, but margins do. I can allow the user to edit the report, but these users are not particularly computer savvy. I have grouped all the controls on the report, and I would like to allow the user to specify something like "move everything up 1/8 inch and right 1/4 inch", then have the app make the adjustment. Can this be done with report listeners? Or is it best to hack the report? Something like REPLACE hpos WITH hpos + 10 FOR objtype = 8 Or, since I have grouped the controls, is there a simple way to reposition the group? How are groups represented in the frx?     - Color Q. I have a navigation form that has pictures on the command buttons. Depending on what the pcs "Color Quality, I want a less dramatic picture on the command button for lower colors (i.e. 16 - 256 colors) and a flasher picture for 16 & 32 bit color. My question is, how in the activate or load of my form can I determine what the color on the pc is set? I am sure it is an api call or something fancy. Your help is always appreciated.     - Locking & Unlocking a Demo I have had many request to send out demo's for some of my programs. I have put date limits and record count to limit the user but then when they want to purchase the program I have to send them another CD or have them download another file. I know that some demo's that I download and want to purchase, the seller just sends me an unlocking code and it works to unlock the program.     - How to Search for text string in all *.prg files? How to Search for text string in all *.prg files? The Windows Find dialog does not seem to be able to search inside Visual Foxpro 6.0 *.prg files in a folder. I guess even the uncompiled .prg (vs. the executable *.fxp) is not really stored as plain text. I assume there must be a way to do this in FoxPro, itself, but can't see it. Any ideas? It is nothing to do with SET ESCAPE [already tried, SET ESCAPE does not affect ON KEY LABEL esc] If I bind a different key it works OK. What's *really* strange is that with escape bound, it works if I press any other key on the keyboard first. As soon as I suspend the program it seems to work properly too so debugging isn't easy.     - SQL cursoradapters display of zero amounts weird When working with sql cursoradapters in grids, amounts are always missing the zero before the decimal point. e.g .00 or .45 instead of 0.00 and 0.45. They display correctly in a textbox. The VFP cursoradapter shows correctly in the same grid class so it can't be a formatting problem within the grid. If you BROWSE the cursoradapter, you again see the fields without the zero before the decimal points. What causes this and is there any way of forcing the zero to show? I did think of using a grid. But, I won't be populating the grid with multiple record from a table/s.     - Auto Increment records like a new emplyee number In VFP9 I used the wizard to create an emplyee table, and indexed it on employeeid. Then I used the wizard and created a form to view and enter employee data. The first time I ran the form I used the command buttons and created a new employee and gave the employee an employeeid of 101. Entered all the rest of the table data and exited. The next time I ran the form, it automatically presents the data from the last record (which I thought I could hide by telling the data environment "no data on load", but it still shows the last record) The second thing is when I click add button, there was no indication as to where the cursor is (and I wanted it to start at the top of the form in Employeedid) so I editied the add button in the command group and tried this code, and it does put me where I want to be, but all the other data is still there) On the click event of the add button ThisForm.EMPLOYEEID1.SetFocus Lastly if I gave the first employee the ID of 101 and add a new employee what would you need to to to get it to assune the next emplyee should be 102?     - FPD report help My client runs a mature many-featured FPD application and I've been asked to modify a couple of the PRG-generated reports. These reports use ?, no FRX involved, and are powered by cursors for the data. The reports have numerous options driven by selector windows. Once the selections are made, the user picks between Screen and Printer. I'm being asked to include an option to create an Excel spreadsheet. I did something like this for them a couple years ago. It was a bunch of work, but I came up with a satisfactory solution. I thought I'd ask here before really getting into this. The printed version supports some stuff that I don't know how I'd support in a spreadsheet. I mean, I can do a COPY TO FILE (lcFilename) TYPE XLS, and if my fieldnames are sufficiently descriptive, it might be satisfactory. It is most likely the problem is with me in fact, not the listbox, but you get the idea! The Mover Listbox has 2 columns that I use. 1 A description 2 A number (as a string) I use to identify a record for processing The following properties are probably also relevant. I currently use the following code to process the items after the user has interacted with the listbox. My problem is that after they clear the relation, the child grid only shows the last "found()" set of records.     - 'Use' Command question Hi Everyone; Some of my apps use a text file to store the path to data. When the path has blanks in it such as "c:\program file\..." foxpro does not like the DOS style path. (I am using "use evaluate('variablename')..." The only solution I found was to map the location as a drive such as "K:" and use this in the text file.     - Compiling to a win32 exe results in DECLARE DLL 'not found' errors I'm attempting to compile a VFP9 project into an EXE. It requires some ActiveX controls that need to be registered, so I've found a handy program by William GC Steinford to register ActiveX DLLs and included it in my project. The function RegSvr has the following lines: DECLARE INTEGER LoadLibrary IN kernel32 As "LoadLibraryA"; STRING lpLibFileName LOCAL lhLib lhLib = LoadLibraryA( pcOCX ) When compiling my project, I get an error: Unable to find Unknown LOADLIBRARY [Locate][Ignore][Ignore all][Cancel] I get the same error for all DECLARE'd DLL functions.     - DLL Creation I'm using VFP7 and created a multi-thread DLL. In VFP the DLL works perfectly. The problem is that everytime the dll is rebuilt the case of the properties change. For example, a property named cAppid will switch between all upper ("CAPPID") or lower ("cappid") or stay as "cAppid". VFP doesn't care about the case, however C# does. After the dll is rebuilt we have to change the C# program to use whatever the new property case. There doesn't appear to be a pattern to what the final case will be. I found a reference in MSDN to the property case problem. The solution was to define the class pragmatically to keep the case of the methods and properties as defined. It didn't work!! (It must be able to process pro_ext.h and winapims.lib from HOME()+"\Samples\API").
