    - winword ole problem Further to my earlier post on this topic (below) The client has no antivirus software loaded - but does a scan from 'trent microsystems' (internet site that scans your system) each week However I was able to find several references to this application error in the application event log:- Faulting application winword.exe, version 9.0.0.3822, faulting module mso9.dll, version 9.0.0.3821, fault address 0x00081c2a. But cannot find any help on the knowledgebase that would fit the clients situation Where can I find out more about this error?     - using member classes in VFP 8 for grid columns & headers I'm trying to use the Member class feature of VFP 8 to create classes for 1). Grid class (which uses the Member class feature for mapping Columns) 2). Column class in a PRG (which uses the HeaderClass for mapping Header class) 3). Header class in a PRG (for the Column Class). I've created a Visual class for the Grid, & have set the Member Class & Class Library properties of the grid for the Column class (in the PRG). The changes APPEAR ONLY IF, i change the column count in the Grid (on the form) to a greater value, & run the form again. Ie, I HAVE TO REFRESH the GRID to retrive the Column class from the PRG once again, which in turn refreshes its setting for the HEADER CLASS from the HeaderClass & HeaderClassLibrary. Am i doing something wrong here. Cuz, if this is how it works, then I'll have to modify ALL my forms, when ever i make a change to the Header Class in the PRG.     - VFP Memos and OleDB Hi, I have a VFP 6 database that I am accessing from ASP.Net using the latest VFP (version 8) OleDB driver and I am having some serious problems updating Memo fields. I am using a parameterized query to perform the update, but if the argument contains more than 512 characters, the first 512 characters get repeated over and over again in the database (up to the length of the original string.) In desperation, I tried breaking the string down into small (<250) character strings and to append these to the Memo one after the other using "Update mytable set myfield = myfield + ?" however, I still get the same results. The xml file does exist, but the cursor does not exist and should be created by the XMLTOCURSOR function .     - FoxPro 7 - error filing reports - printer driver problem When issuing a command like REPORT FORM s-PayAll TO FILE "C:\"+mReport+".txt" my system hangs and I have to do a Ctrl+Alt+Del to escape. Investigating, I find a flag saying that it can't find the printer driver. If I ask it to PRINT the form, it finds everything it needs and prints properly ... so why can't it find the driver for FILING the report? Where would that driver be? Please, thanks.     - Strange Report Problem with VFP 7.0 Hello All, Thanks in advance for any help. I have a report which is basically a form letter. This letter is from our clients (known as clients) and to our client's clients (known as debtors). The letter has to be signed by one of our staff (known as collectors). I have a query results which contain the line items for each report sorted by Client and within client by debtor. I have the following relationships SET RELATION TO CLI_CODE INTO CLIENTS SET RELATION TO DEBT_CODE INTO DEBTORS ADDI SET RELATION TO SUBSTR(DEBT_CODE, 1, 1) INTO COLLECTORS ADDI The report specifies the client's address from the client table, and the debtors address from the debtor table. The problem is that the first page of the report does not contain all of the address information for either the client or the debtor. Every other page is fine. If I use a FOR clause in the report command the first letter as missing info. Every other one is fine. If I insert a blank record into the table (which is readwrite and indexed by cli_code + debt_code) the problem will occur on that first (blank) report and then every other page will be fine.     - [VFP9]: foxuser.* always get corrupted. Hello everyone! I had downloaded VFP9b for quite some time, but never really used it until these last couple of weeks. Our intern application happened to need some upgrade and I thought it was a good idea to try VFP9b. To make story shorts, the upgrade runs very well, and the new application runs as stable as the previous version (built with VFP8SP1). Problem is, I think there are some clash between VFP9b and VFP8SP1 in my box. VFP9's resource file (foxuser.fpt) is keep on corrupting and I often forced to open C:\Documents and Settings\....\Microsoft Visual FoxPro 9 to delete foxuser.* and let VFP9 rebuild it. Sometimes, the Intellisense would go numb and I had to choose Tools | Intellisense Manager to let VFP9 rebuild the tables again. How can I fix this behavior? I tried to uninstall-and-reinstall VFP9b with no luck. Oh, and I used to open both VFP9b and VFP8SP1 at the same time (yet, both opening different project). Would that be the cause of the problem?     - Subclass problems - pageframe VFP8 - SP1 I have subclassed a form with a pageframe, and have some problems with it with the Pagecount property. In the class I give the pageframe 10 pages. Then when I use it in a form I set the property to e.g. 3 in the form init event (I have also tried the pageframe init event). The result is that it still comes up with 10 pages. I have found one solution, and that is to duplicate the line in the init event - and it works: *!* form init thisform.pageframe1.pagecount = 3 thisform.pageframe1.pagecount = 3 This does not make sense. Some dbase/foxpro user groups suggest that earlier versions of Foxpro do not support null values in which case the above should work and may just be throwing an error because I've got the format of the default values incorrect. The two fields filled in, in the above example are the only ones that are required to add a record. I hope someone can shed some light on this. Thanks in advance.     - Re-applying filter .. I have come across a particular problem may be someone else here as also encountered it. I have applied a FILTER condition on a table & then changed the value of a field - which is part of the Filter Expression - which causes some more records to meet the filter condition and hence are desired to be filtered out. But I am surprised that when all the records meet the Criteria as set in the FILTER Expression it works fine but when some records are already being left out - coz of the FILTER Expression - and some more are added to the list the records don't respect the filter condition. I am moving the Record Pointer in both the cases. After applying and/or changing the Data. Is there any method other than to 1: save the Filter, 2: setting Filter Off and then 3: Reapplying the Filter Condition. which forces the Foxpro to refresh/reapply the filter to the table.     - Tableupdate() function I have a remote view set up to a SQL server database. In the view definition, I have set up the where clause to indicate SQL fieldonly in the update criteria. The bufferring is set to Optimistic Record lock (#3). The table itself has a field ID that is set to autoincrement. If I append a record and issue the tableupdate() command, I am unable to make any other changes to that record due to update conflict. Thus the following code : .. Append blank replace fname with "Jim" =Tableupdate() replace lname with "marck" =tableupdate() && <-- this produces a update conflict due to the field ID. The question is this.     - ative VFP tables vs Remote views We have a LAN with W2k server and W2k workstations. My VFP database is located in the W2k server. My concern is to access data as fast as possible. I created a local view to retrieve and update records in 2 tables. When I run the local view, in the data-session window I can see 3 tables open, view(cursor) and the 2 tables. Then I created a remote view using a connection string in which I used Microsoft Visual Foxpro ODBC Driver. Interestingly, When I run the remote view, in the data-session only the view(cursor) is open. Therefore, is it a good idea to use remote views in this way in my forms as the overhead of opening the native tables on the user's workstation is eliminated? Your comment is greatly appreciated. However for inserting whole VFP cursor/table in back end I have to do one by one in a SCAN...ENDSCAN loop e.g. SQLEXE(nCon, 'INSERT INTO Patient (Field1, Field2) VALUES (Value1, Value2)').     - VFP stability I have a client with our compiled VFP8 SP1 application (one of many) who is having freezing problems on a number of machines at their site. Many other sites that we have have no problem. I have done the usual bit with anti virus, reinstalling the latest VFP patches, uninstalling an reinstalling our software etc. but they continue to freeze up the computer regularly.     - Creating a VFP report on the fly from a web page. I have an ASP application that uses a VFP compiled DLL to interract with our VFP backend. I would like the users to be able to display an invoice on the screenthat looks exactly like their real invoices (which come out of VFP). I am trying not to use Crystal as the users would have already customised the invoices themselves outside of our control and I relaly dont want to have to teach them how to redo it in crystal. I have created a method in our DLL that generates a PDF file without any messages, forms or other human interface features. However the one thing I want which is to generate a report is rejected by the COM DLL. Is there a way to get a VFP compiled DLL to generate repot using the REPORT FORM comman or some other strategy to generate a report from an FRX file?
