Re-install VFP9 and SP1 would probably work.

Hi Fred,

Things I have tried
- copy vs_setup.msi to disk
- reinstall from CD (same message)
- removed ...Patches REG_MULTI_SZ in regestry for vfp9
installer
- copied files from another machine

any other ideas ?
this is important since cannot install the final SP2, when
comes out

Uninstall Foxpro and then BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE make sure the Foxpro
directories are actually deleted, and THEN go into the registry and delete
every key related to Foxpro.

That last bit could actually get dicey because you also have to delete the
registry keys related to Foxpro left behind by the Windows install engine.

Once you've deleted Foxpro, something like REGCLEAN might help find orphaned
keys and help you clean up the mess.

After you've completely eradicated VFP from your machine, then you should be
able to install from scratch. It sounds like you've left something behind in
all your current efforts and new installs find whatever it is.

Thanks for reply

Uninstall does not work at all (errors out)
I was hoping someone knew what file or setting caused this
without deleting all entries in registry
I'll try that now, and I hope it works, as the only other
thing I can think of is to reinstall windows
