I have downloaded and installed the beta of VFP 9.0. The help file does not function, and I wonder if this is the way the beta was released. Should I try downloading and installing again, or is this feaure just not working in the beta?

Seeker,
If you are asking "Does it function like a "real" VFP?", then no. Please =
make sure you read the release notes:
Known Product Issues
Help Issues
=C2=B7 The VFP help file has undergone a number of recent =
changes, which you will notice immediately from the new look and feel. =
Because of these changes, there are significant functional and visual =
formatting issues =E2=80=93 these issues will be fixed for final =
release.

=C2=B7 F1 context help is not properly working.

=C2=B7 Intra-doc anchor links are not completely working. Cross =
reference links should mostly be working.

=C2=B7 Some code snippets may not properly word-wrap.

=C2=B7 The Locate button is missing, which allows users to find =
topics in the Table of Contents (Table of Contents).

=C2=B7 The Font button is missing.

=C2=B7 The Favorites tab is missing.

=C2=B7 The other navigation buttons (Back, Forward, Stop, =
Refresh, and Home) are located under the Options button.

=C2=B7 The Search Highlight feature is not working.

=C2=B7 The Synchronize button is missing; however, there is a =
new method of synchronizing. When you click the Contents tab in the Help =
dialog box, the current topic is highlighted in the Table of Contents.

=C2=B7 The Language Filter drop-down list box has no =
functionality and should be disabled.

=C2=B7 The What Is New topics are still being worked on and not =
all the areas are complete or accurate.

Thanks, Rick. Here is what I am seeing from the Help -> Microsoft Visual FoxPro Help menu at the top of the IDE.

The Contents, Index and Search tabs are fully populated and operational. Selecting any of the topics by double-clicking produces a blank panel on the right side.

I can make the content appear, however, with Options -> Refresh.

seeker,
I'm not seeing that. What OS are you running under? Have you checked for =
updates for your video card? VFP 9.0 (beta) has taken up where 8.0 left =
off, and it uses a lot of GDI+ capabilities which older OSs (and older =
video cards/drivers) don't always fully support. Also try lowering the =
graphics card's acceleration setting.
