application installation reports unable to access drvvfp.cnt (vfp6)

I have an application installation program generated in vfp6 that includes
the vfp odbc driver

My client is unable to run this on a windows xp pc because the setup program
reports that it cannot access the drvvfp.cnt (one of the vfp odbc help
files)

Is there a soulution to this?

Any help gratefully received

I wonder if you need to distribute the drvvfp files at all. If you've made a
setup with them, make sure drvvfp.cnt was included. You can also setup
VFPODBC by running MDAC 2.6, Service Pack 2.

I concur with Anders' assessment -
install the MDAC and most 'problems' will go away.
You might need to clean the registry if there is some dangling reference
afterwards, but that should be quite rare.
