It says in the online documentation that VFP 8 requires
Windows 98 or later for runtime programs. Does anyone
know if this is completely and absolutely true? i.e. will
runtime programs actually run under Windows 95? And if
so, are there any particular problems? (I have a small
user community of W95 users!)

Jerry,
It's a matter of "support". VFP 8.0 was not tested under Win95, because =
it is considered an "obsolete" OS (see =
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/lifecycle/desktop/business/default.mspx =
for details). If your VFP 8.0 app works under Win95 - great. If it =
doesn't, don't bother complaining, because you were warned.

Thanks, Rick.

That's more or less what I suspected. However, it would
be nice to hear if anyone out there has tried a VFP 8.0
application under W95.

I've not tried it, but I have seen reports that menus do not work correctly.

From what I hear, you can run VFP8 on W95, except that multi-level menus
don't work. I wouldn't know as I haven't even seen a W95 computer in at
about 3-5 years as most of my users moved to at least W98 or W2K or XP in
the last few years.
