Windows XP Professional

Hi,

Are there any specific Windows XP Pro. components,
updates, patches to be installed on the pc where VFP7
compiled application with MSDE has to run?

Can anyone give me a few good URLs where VFP bugs/problems
are found for Windows XP Pro O/s.

I think VFP requires IE; if so then it should come in the VFP box. I know
there are service packs for SQL Server that apply to MSDE. Ultimately, go to
Windows Update and get all of the critical patches. Go to the SQL Server
pages and get all the updates there also.

Hi Reetesh:

I don't have a web site that lists any recommended patches, but I can give
you some basic suggestions to get you started.

1. Make sure you are using VFP 7.0 with SP1 installed:

2. Make sure you have Windows XP with Service Pack 1 installed.

3. Make sure you have all critical security updates installed. Use Windows
Update tool to get the needed downloads.
4. Make sure you are protected from the Slammer worm virus if applicable.
