    - Possible to "draw" on screen using mouse? Hi. Does anyone know if it is possible to let the user "draw" or "circle" items on a screen. We will be displaying images on screen and a client was wondering if they would be able to draw or circle various items? Strange request but just wondering if anyone has some thoughts. TIA.     - user rights issue Nearly all our programs have a necesity to write to the folder where the executable is installed, ie local tables which are synchronised with the server tables. All our programs get installed into the program files folder. We have come accross machines occasionaly where the logged on user has only 'user' rights and cannot write to the installation folder.     - winsock control tries to load vfp 9 installer...please help Hello and thanks in advance for the help. I have a project that uses the mswinsock control. A new and frustrating behavior has started occurring. After loading VFP when I go to modify the form with the winsock control on it, it begins trying to load the vfp 9 installer. I can cancel out of it and then the app will work fine (if you don't count the bugs I have yet to fix). Why is the winsock control being present making the ide try to load the vfp 9 installer? I have both VFP 7 and 9 on this machine. The project is being developed in 7 but I have made a test form and tried to load it in 9 and the problem happens there as well.     - OLE error I have a program - VFP9 Sp1 - which creates an Excel file. In the program, when the sheet is ready I create subtotals using the following code: oSelected.Subtotal(1, -4157, @laArray, .f., .F., 1). If I run this program 1-2 times per day I do not have any problem. But after 4-5 runs I have the following error: OLE error code 0x80010105: The server threw an exception.     - How to convert arrow keys to tab/shift-tab in a grid I have a grid, and would like to set it so that the arrow keys cause the focus to move to the next/previous object in the tab order. In the keypress method, I watch for chr(4), and keyboard a chr(9). This works in the forward direction. However, I also watch for a chr(19), and keyboard a '{SHIFT+TAB}', but nothing happens. I can press shift-tab, and it works as expected, but programatically doing it seems to be ignored. I can't keyboard a chr(15), because this is also ctrl-o and causes the open dialog to appear. Up/down arrows works as expected. So - how can I trap a left arrow, and keyboard a shift-tab so that the focus moves to the previous object in the tab order? Here is a sample form that I've been working with, and it has the grid with the specific settings we need: http://zootal.no-ip.info/stuff/VFP%20Stuff/ You want the form files for gridnavtest. Click on the grid, and then when the grid has the focus, try the left and right arrow keys. You can look at the simple code to see what I'm doing. Background: I'm using the grid in a calendar control, where each grid is a day of the month. I'd like to use the arrow keys to navigate from one date to the next, but so far have only got it to work in the forward direction. I can use code and manually setfocus to the desired control, but it would be cleaner if I could just stuff a shift-tab into the keyboard buffer. Tag: Test Tag: 233936

    - database permission problem Hi guys, I moved the database to another directory and validate it. I can open and modify any table in the database, but other users can open in read only mode.     - Vista + Pageframe + ActiveX control = problem I am trying to put the DBI ctGrid on a page in a pageframe that is not the page that is visible when the form loads. When I run the program the grid bleeds through and always shows. This gets fixed when I click on the corresponding page and then everything runs fine. I have also noticed this problem with MS's date/time picker. Has anyone else had any problems with this and are there any workarounds? I have tried setting the visible property to false until the page is activated and that doesn't seem to work. I have also tried having the second page activated on loading and then programaticaly changing it after loading but that doesn't work either. Any idea if this will be fixed in VFP 9 SP2?     - VFP remote views to sequel 2005 tables Just starting out trying to move VFP data to Sequel System written in VFP9 using Remote Views of 2 Sequel 2005 tables. 12 machines work fine, 3 hang when trying to open a parameterised view. They open the connection to Sequel database OK. Opens view of Sequel data OK gets stuck on opening parameterised view. I guess it must be after a parameter, but I'm sure its there. last log entry is "use vRegisteredForSaleIn" from OpenUpdateableView, cFactFundCode is reported as blank from this procedure. Any suggestions as to what to do next would be greatly appreciated. I've reloaded latest MDAC just in case that was the cause.     - Mouse droppings Hey folks, Anyone seen this? Comments? Suggestions? Form has pageframe with 3 pages, 2nd page has 2 containers with 2 listboxes ("mover" type u/i) When first run, activate page 2 and the mouse will not select in any of the lists. (Keyboard selection is fine.) Activate page 3 and come back to page 2 and all is fine. This is in a form that hasn't changed in 6 years.     - CursorAdapter, MySQL - View definition has been changed. I have created my first program using CursorAdapters and a native VFP9 database and it works great. I am now trying to convert it to use MySQL. I keep getting the message "View definition has changed" when refreshing my CursorAdapters. I am not sure what is causing this error.     - multiple databases Hi all, I have an aplication wich should be able to open databases located in different drives and directories. When i developed the application I used one database in the local harddrive. Once installed the application, it should be able to open the other databases. Which command should I use??     - moving a vfp database Hi all, I have created a VFP 8.0 database and tested and application that use it. Now I want to move to another directory the database. As I move through each record in the grid I want to display the jpg saved to a memo(binary) field with filetostr(). Once I get it to display I have another issue that I believe I can use to append multiple jpg's to a table. Originally I was appending to a general field but I've noticed most have suggested saving it to a memo(binary). That sounds better since you can't display a JPG in an Image control (only the name). If I could I might keep the use of the general field. I use GETDIR() to locate the pictures I want to pull in. I save them in a general field. If I'm going to save them in a memo(binary) field what would the code be? Below is the code to append to the general field.     - Heartfelt Thanks to Everyone Would like to take a moment to sincerely thank everyone who helped me get restarted over the last couple of weeks. Today was a watershed day for me where most of the pieces began to work and provided some time to run traces and better understand the philosophy behind the different engine. I now have a very complex (for me) form up and running using vfp vs 2.x approaches which is already far beyond the app I have been asked to replace.     - REPLACE ALL using vfp 9.1 on xp sp2 under certain conditions I want to replace the contents of a field for all records in a table the command REPLACE ALL fieldA with "B" results in only one replacement if the order is set to an index with a filter.     - Slow speed opening tables Is thre any way of speeding up the speed of opening a table on a 2nd workstation? If I use table X on one workstation it opens fast but if I open the same table on a 2nd workstation, it take 3 times longer to open. I don' know the reason but I did a small mod to the code and removed the deactivate code from the read and it works! I actually now have been able to compile two small plug-ins for my main application and they work! This is giving me the courage to tackle the main app and a very important and rather large plug-in. Both make use of the Append General command that caused me trouble in FPW2.6 on XP and is a must-work for me. I have no idea what this will mean in coding effort but I am going to try. I have been using the debugger with break points and stepping through when I find a problem. Has using the event tracking with a file been a help to you? I'll try it on the next stumble.     - Cheque Printing Hello: Revising the cheque printing routine in VFP 6. It will be cheque/stub/stub. I have the cheque itself in the header and it is fine. The first stub is the detail band of the report and is set up in 3 columns and prints the invoice nbr and amount - up to 45 items. It too is fine. I would like the bottom stub, the footer or the report, to also be in three columns and list the 45 items in the same manner as the detail band. It seems that I can't set up columns in the footer of the report. The only way I can think of doing it is to pre-process the invoice items and write them to an array then write the array formatted to a memo field/text box or something and print the text box in the footer of the report.     - Any way to get rid of textbox outline in grid? VFP8 in XP Pro I have a standard grid with Themes set to .F. I have set the grid to highlight the current row with persistence. The grid is set to ReadOnly since it is used just for display and to move the record pointer as the user clicks on the desired record. The only visual problem I have is that there seems to be no way to get rid of the dark blue border that appears around the selected textbox. I've looked for a color setting for this so I can set it to the same color as the row highlight color or a logical setting that turns it off, but I don't see anything.
