Which Fox 2.5? DOS, Windows, Unix or Mac? <g>

The license agreement has varied over the years. One version made it illegal
to distribute the runtime without an application, for instance.

See if the redist.txt file in your HOME() directory helps any.

Heya Steve -
I notice RockWellCollins has offices in BeiJing and ShangHai - you may want
to contact the legal offices there and ask the question.

If Chinese is a problem for you, then contact the Singapore office and ask -
they might take an extra day, but of course you'll get the right answer.

Way back when - there was actually a lawsuit with a PC maker in China who
was giving away FREE FoxPro IDE along with the Free MS Operating System.
Microsoft sued them, and won. Of course, thats really not about the run
time modules for a compiled app - but you get the general drift.

Currently -there are no restrictions to using VFP 9 run time modules in
China whatsoever. I say this after reviewing the redist.txt file that
shipped with the product.

Have you contacted your department's legal liason to ask these questions?

Also - after travelling around in BeiJing, ShangHai, GuangZhou and ShenZhen
attempting a VFP Consultancy, when I see a western company saying "provide
the application to a Chinese customer so they can support a product my
company has sold " then I'll tell you, for free, that your app will be
totally reverse engineered and redone. That's just how the bizness works
there..

warmest regards [Bill]
