It sometimes failed to send a PDF as attachment correctly (the file is
trimmed by a few bytes).

In case the site is down, anyone knew where her mail control has a
property that governs encoding or type for the attachment?

And if possible, could someone attach some documentation of the mail
control here?

I have a license for the control, I'm looking at the .lic file right
now, but I couldn't tell you where the docs are, or even the install
files. Probably buried in a box somewhere in my office.

Didn't Mabry go belly up? IIRC, their website has been offline for a
while now.

No, my company did buy the control, but it seems that they have never
needed the documentation, until this time, when trying to attach a PDF
into a email. The receiver got a corrupted PDF.

Thank you first. Well, I am persuading my colleage to try BLAT, but he
didn't seem to have interest in that. :)

That's what I am suspecting....

The PDF could be sent and received without problem if I use OutLook to
attach the PDF. If I then look at the source codes of the 2 messages,

Outlook one:
------=_NextPart_000_007B_01C7B8C9.778942D0
Content-Type: application/pdf;
name="706150005B.pdf"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
Content-Disposition: attachment;
filename="706150005B.pdf"

Using Mabry control:
------=_NextPart_000_0077_01C7B8C8.294FBCD0
Content-Type: application/octet-stream;
name="706150005B.pdf"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
Content-Disposition: attachment;
filename="706150005B.pdf"

The tail section of the attached files from Mabry was also different the
original PDF, and its size was reduced by 5 bytes.

FWIW, I've used Mabry, CDO, and Blat. Blat has proven by far to be the
fastest and most reliable. I would not hesitate to use and recommend blat.

I wonder if Mabry does not properly encode the file? You should be able
to extract the attachment from the source of the file that Mabry sends,
and see if you can manually decode the attachment. If not, then Mabry
did not properly encode it. That would be my fist guess. Also, try
sending the file with some other mail client and see how it encodes it.

I saw the header, but not the body of the attachment. I saw how one
sends it as type pdf, where mabry sends it base64 encoded. I still
suspect an encoding or decoding issue. Can you send me the source of
the received email as text? I will attempt to manually decode it and
see if that works or not. foxng at zootal dot com.
