Our dept. manager moved our repository to a newer, faster server (finally!).
We have three projects which share a couple of files, and everything seems
to be setup properly in VSS.
However when we join two of the three projects through VFP all three of the
shared files are not copied down to the client - but are still listed in the
project. If I go into VSS and do a get on them they do appear in the
project manager - but are not shown as being part of Souce Control (no lock
icon, just a blank space). No matter what we have tried VFP won't realize
those joined files ARE part of the repository.
I have updated to the latest client. Unfortunetly the old server has been
reformatted so there is nothing to go back to. Nothing has changed on the
client machines during the transition from one server to the other - yet the
problem has been tossed into the hands of the developers to solve.
There is no problem checking out files through the VSS interface, except the
text files are not created so we lose the ability to do text-compares
between revisions. Losing that audit trail has been declared
'unacceptable' by the dept. manager.
Any ideas and thoughts would be greatly apprecaited.
