 - run a vfp program when the computer starts (or login) Hi guys, Is there a way to ensure that a VFP program is executed when the computer starts or when a user logs into the system. NOTE : I do not want to use Scheduled tasks. How could I recreate the sequence programmatically?  - Setting up DCOM impersonation I have an application that is called from the web and it generates pdf documents using printer drivers. My problem seems to be that when the com server runs it is impersonating IUSR which does not have printer drivers available. I have heard that I can overcome the problem if I have the COM server impersonate a particular user. However, this would mean that when the application is distributed every installation would have to manually configure the dcomcnfg settings, I really want to avoid that.  - send email and VFP limitations ? Hi again, I'm using wwIPstuff from west-wind. I dropped it on a form and from there I use it. All works well except : There is a limit of 255 char for the attachments ! I've already discussed this on west-wind messageboard but they said it is not because of wwIPstuff. It is due to Vfp ? They don't have any limit on howmany attachments-pathnames that can be added, at least, from the help file, not more than 1245 char. (Because of the relativaly long pathname where I store the attachments I can only add 5 attachments. I know I can change that but that will only be the very last option, and I hope not) even if I drop the class on a form and manually add the attachments pathnames to it, it doesn't work. I can't add more then 255 char ! Is the max lenght of a property also limited to 255 ?  - Can I use PING in a VFP program? Has anyone ever used a VFP program to issue a ping to an IP address and then checked to see if there was a reply received to the ping? I would like to do this periodically throughout the day to see if a VPN tunnel is operational or not. If I get a response to the ping, I know the VPN tunnel is up. If I don't get a response after about 10 pings, then I know the VPN tunnel is down. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Have good one, Doug G.  - Invalid Path or File Name I've run in to a weird problem - have an application in VFP7 running under Windows XP. Client is getting a "Invalid Path or File Name" error - odd part is it is only occurring now and then. They can run for several days the doing the same things and then get the error. Error occurs when running applications - like when closing a form (Not on start up). I did a code search for a "Set Path", and the only hit was where the path is set up in the Main program. I see where FoxPro has this error listed as Error 202, but I couldn't come up with any code to force the error - just keep getting "file does not exists" error. Appreciate any ideas..  - What is happening to my data ?? I have a dbf file from my CLIPPER application which I copied to from Pentium II (Win98) to my Pentium III (XP) computer. I have field in the dbf files which stores some binary data in a character field. When I tried to verify the data, I found that byte hex D8 (Decimal 216) is getting converted to Hex 2B (Decimal 43) for the purpose of display. I opened the dbf file with my Hex Editor and I can see that the file still contains Hex D8. I wrote a small program to extract first byte of that field and display its ASC value and it turns out to be 43. It has me totally stumped. How can it be that while the physical file still contains byte D8 but when I read it in, it comes back as 2B Any one can throw any light on this. I just wouldn't be able proceed further in my project unless I am sure I will be able to transfer the data without any problem.  - VFP8 SP1 R.I. Builder BUG This bit us a few times until we figured out what was happening. Here's the summary: When you make changes to a DBC's R.I. rules, any existing trigger expression that includes an "OR" condition will be changed to an "AND". For example, on one of our tables, the following expression is in the delete trigger: __ri_delete_ritesttable().OR.(IIF(TYPE("g_lSkipDeleteRI")="L",g_lSkipDeleteR I,.F.)) This allows us to override the R.I. rule if needed for administrative purposes (don't worry, there's a good reason for this). But, if modifications are made to the R.I. rules via the R.I. builder, the "OR" in the above expression is changed to "AND" when the R.I. code is generated. This applies even if the R.I. rule mod has nothing to do with the table that has the "OR" trigger expression. Has anyone else seen this? This is a HUGE bug as far as we're concerned. In our case, this problem prevents our customers from being able to delete any records from the affected table. I'll submit this to the VFP buglist website.
