I am wondering if anyone has a good reference on how to build the actual
help files themselves. I understand how to make the forms and objects point
to "topics" etc, but I cannot find anything that shows me how to build the
actual help file itself.

Thanks,

Scott

Hi Scott,
there is a tool called "HTML Help Workshop" that is delivered with
Windows and is usually installed in your "program files" folder (if
it isn't you can install it from the windows CD).
The tool is not too comfortable, but it will get the job done.

Jens

Scott Cadreau seemed to utter in news:Vv6dncptw7mzzzDdRVn-hg@aros.net:

As I always do... I recommend the fine tool HelpAndManual to
build very nice help files very quickly and very easily:

You can create an HTML Help file using Microsoft's HTML Help Workshop,
which is available from the following page on the MSDN site:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/htmlhelp/html/hwMicrosoftHTMLHelpDownloads.asp

For a tutorial on how to use HTML Help Workshop, see:

http://www.mvps.org/htmlhelpcenter/htmlhelp/hhtutorials.html#char_hhw

HTML Help Workshop provides fairly basic authoring facilities, which
is why most people go for tools like RoboHelp, Doc-To-Help, or Help &
Manual. For information on these tools and many others, see:
