    - foxpro and webservice .NET Hi all, I use a webservice .NET to send an dataset to cursor Foxpro and after the update i send the cursor to the webservice .NET Do it possible , to read a untyped dataset from Foxpro (xml adapter) Cause if i use the typed dataset , i don't have information for the field numeric and foxpro make numeric(20,19). Also i send the cursor to the webservice i have an error : overflox capacity numeric in sqlserver. Cause foxpro define the numeric information in xml.     - CDO programming for email works for one SMTP server but does not work with other I am using the following code to generate email from within a program using standard CDO. I am in australiia, and while the SMTP server is set to 'smtp.optusnet.com.au' (for Optus ) it works perfectly. But when I set the SMTP server to 'smtp.iprimus.com.au' (for Iprimus) the emailing fails. I have confirmed that both the addresses are returning replies to Ping. Please advise how I can make it work with Iprimus.     - Accessing VFP DLL in Vista I have encapsulated some procedures and functions in a DLL that are surrounded, in the main program, by "DEFINE CLASS TexLogo AS session OLEPUBLIC" and "ENDDEFINE". It is compiled as a DLL (tried single threaded and multiple threaded DLL) . To access these procs and funcs, I do a "oTexLogo = CREATEOBJECT('texlogo4.texlogo')" from the calling program (compiled as an EXE). It works great when running on an XP or 2K machine, but in Vista(sp1), I get a "Class definition TEXLOGO4.TEXLOGO is not found." error message when the CREATEOBJECT() line is executed in the calling program. TEXLOGO4.DLL is the name of the file and TEXLOGO is the name of the class. The Vista machine is a target test system so it doesn't have any development stuff on it. I used Inno Setup to install the application. The VFP DLL and calling program are compiled with VFP 7 sp1. The remainder of the program works fine, with the documented display issues with Vista. I have a Adobe PDF print driver which when you print to it asks for a PDF filename and then generates a PDF file as a print image.     - Grids with related column problem I have a grid based on a cursor that contains the primary key of another table which is related into the temporary table. When displaying the grid, it correctly displays the columns from the real table based on the relation. However, if I select another form (form loses focus) and then click on the grid, all the rows show the same values as the row I have clicked on. This only happens the first time I open the form and do this. After this it is fine. If I click on any other column in the row, the grid fixes itself up to display the correct rows. I have put an explicit seek into the DynamicBackColor and AfterRowColumnChange events to ensure that each row has the correct pointer to the table but I don't think this is the problem. Since the columns displayed are user selectable, it is not feasible to include them all in the cursor. Any ideas as to how to stop this as it is very annoying.?     - Encrypting DBFs in VFP native In Windows Vista encrypting DBF had become a real trouble due to Cryptor doesn´t work here. I can´t use SQL server or MySQL instead native DBFs, because I always must include Phdbase for indexing memo fields and now it is out. My app has several medium size tables, between 20 and 50 MBs which are only for read. It not are updated. I´d thought include them in the exe file but perhaps it will bring problems. Some years ago I used to scramble DBF header and fix it when I open it. But now recovering tools prevent protect them. Does somebody knows something to protect DBFs en VFP native code? Thanks.     - How to clear access keys The main menu of my application uses 1-9 as access keys for the selections. For a variety of reasons, all the forms in this app are modal. Nevertheless, in the forms, the menu access keys still (attempt to) function. [This comes up because I use the same numbers as access keys in the form. Generally, the form keys override the menu keys.     - Terminal Server File Handles FoxPro App Hi, I've got a problem where I receive a 1104 error in a FoxPro app that is being run in the following configuration. File Server (Server A) has a Share with a Foxpro App and data files. Users are accessing the app and data from their desktops through the network share. Other users are opening a citrix session to a Terminal Server (Server B) and then running the app from the share. Some users are using remote desktop on server (Server C) to access the application and data. Users that are logged into Server B & C sometimes receive an error message 1104. (Error Reading File) Server A, B & C are all Windows 2003 Servers After doing research I found KB818528, KB299603 on the Microsoft website. However it only mentions Windows 2000 Terminal Services environment, although the Symptoms are exactly right according to KB818528 & KB294816 Would the Hotfix that Microsoft can supply for these symptoms fix the problem on Windows 2003 or is there an alternate Hotfix for a Windows 2003 Terminal Services Environment? The sting in the tail is that there is a hefty charge to pay to contact the support team and the solution given may not solve the problem as described on KB818528. Well if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great. I also have customers using the software in the above configuration and they are also receiving the errors mentioned. They presumably would also have to contact Microsoft support to fix this problem and I want to give them correct advice if they need to contact and pay for Microsoft Support.     - KB299603, KB 818528 & KB294816 - Terminal Server application issues. Hi, I've got a problem where I receive a 1104 error in a FoxPro app that is being run in the following configuration. File Server (Server A) has a Share with a Foxpro App and data files. Users are accessing the app and data from their desktops through the network share. Other users are opening a citrix session to a Terminal Server (Server B) and then running the app from the share. Some users are using remote desktop on server (Server C) to access the application and data. Users that are logged into Server B & C sometimes receive an error message 1104. (Error Reading File) Server A, B & C are all Windows 2003 Servers After doing research I found KB818528, KB299603 on the Microsoft website. However it only mentions Windows 200 Terminal Services environment, although the Symptoms are exactly right according to KB818528 & KB294816 Would the Hotfix that Microsoft can supply for these symptoms fix the problem on Windows 2003 or is there an alternate Hotfix for a Windows 2003 Terminal Services Environment? The sting in the tail is that there is a hefty charge to pay to contact the support team and the solution given may not solve the problem as described on KB818528. Well if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great. I also have customers using the software in the above configuration and they are also receiving the errors mentioned. They presumably would also have to contact Microsoft support to fix this problem and I want to give them correct advice if they need to contact and pay for Microsoft Support. The field it is searching on is 150 characters. and includes the filename and path. It is for a karaoke song look up. The file structure is such that directories could appear as below. c:\karaoke\full discs\ah8001 and an example filename would be ah8001-01 - Healey, Jeff - Angel Eyes.zip The use might only remember that some guy named Jeff sung a song about eyes and the disc number was 8001 So with the above search box I could type in " jef eye 8001 " and the program would narrow it down to this file.     - Executable file size differs depending on OS of box it is compiled on Here is something that I've not seen before. We have a simple executable based on a .prg with about 2000 lines, including comments and blank lines. On an XP Pro box, it compiles into a 48K file. When compiled on a Windows server 2003 box, using same copy of VFP and same source and same project file, it compiles into a 33.5K file. The difference is that in the big file, there is a block of zeroes from 2C00 to 5DFF. The smaller file doesn't have this, and the files are virtually identical othewise. Why is this? I'm guessing it has to do with size of the disk allocation units of the system drive of the OS we are running, not so much as a difference between XP and Server 2003. Anyone know for certain?     - Problem with resizing control I have a FoxPro 9 application that has different controls on several tabs. On one tab, I have a Treeview control. I want the control to resize itself when the form is resized. When you are on the tab with the Treeview control and resize the form, the treeview control resizes itself just fine. However, if you go to another tab and then come back, the treeview control goes back to its original size. Actually, it starts off at the correct size, then when all the controls on the tab are finished loading, it resizes itself back to the original size. I have tried tracing through the code, and there is nothing in the code which is making it go back to the original size. Any ideas how to correct this?     - Public or static variables question The book _1001 Things You Wanted to Know about Visual Foxpro_ has an interesting application which is essentially a standalone command window for FoxPro. You type in your commands and they are executed, pretty much like in the regular command window. It seemed to me that this would be a handy thing to have, but there is a problem that limits its usefulness. The problem is that all variables created in the command window are private and not static. So, you can't assign a value to a variable and then use that variable. For example, you can assign "Hello" to X, but then you can't use MessageBox(X) because X isn't around any more. The question is, is there any way to make all variables default to global or static? Maybe once a month or it may be as long as 2 months the user receives error 1705 File access is denied on the DELETE FILE (lcReportFile) line. I don't think so. One option might be to create your own control
class including self-made / ActiveX scrollbars.
