If you're using OE, you can create a separate new folder under Local
Folders, and then just drag each entry (or group of entries) from the
newsgroups into that folder. One of the advantages of using a newsreader
that also does email.

I use Mozilla Thunderbird as my email/newsreader and it has an option
to mark newsgroups for use offline. Once downloaded the messages are on
your local machine and you can read them at anytime.

OE is Outlook Express.

Yong Mallare, are any of these any good?

If you can get your Palm connected to Internet you should be sorted.

OE=Outlook Express. I wasn't aware that Outlook 2003 handled newsgroups.
If it does, you should be able to do the same thing, drag the newsgroup
messages you'd like to save to a local folder within Outlook 2003.

From Outlook Express help file for offline news.......

*************************
o set up newsgroups for offline news reading

For newsgroups you subscribe to, you can set up Outlook Express to make
messages or headers available offline by synchronizing. This enables you
to read them at your leisure when you are not connected to the Internet.

From the Folders list, select a news server.
In the main window, select one or more newsgroups you subscribe to whose
messages you want to read offline. (To select multiple newsgroups, hold
down the CTRL key while you click the newsgroups.)
Click Settings, and then click to mark what you want transferred from
the server to your computer during synchronization: All Messages, New
Messages Only (new to the server since you last synchronized), or
Headers Only (subject, author, date, and size of message).
Make sure that the newsgroups you do not want to download are not
selected (Don't Synchronize).

Whenever you want to transfer the messages or headers to your computer
from the server, click Sync Account.

Note

If your online time is limited, you can target specific messages for
offline reading. For details, see Download individual messages.

It doesn't, natively. However, NewsGator (an RSS aggregator addin for
Outlook) can also handle NNTP groups. It's pretty slick, actually. No
dragging at all -- just tell it where you want stuff and how often to go get
it.

Thanks, Dan. Someday, I might actually get around to looking into a couple
of RSS feeds.

Where were you this weekend, you weren't at Southwest Fox?

I can only "do" so many conferences. (Actually, with a staff of three we
spread them around. Luck of the draw gave me Devcon.)
